I think the intended way to get oil near bedrock is with a drain cover, isn't it?

Finally some new toys to play around with =P Btw, are we ever gonna get that blast furnace you talked about years ago?
-
You say that you have to think for a punishment for using axles, but is it really necessary? I feel like being able to produce RU a few blocks away (in a straight line) isn't such a big advantage that needs balancing =/
At least with wires you can go in any direction and connect to multiple lines (and is realistic), and you already said that gearboxes will be lossy anyway. So yeah, why also nerf the axles themselves?
-
Are you serious? -.-" They are spelled backward to avoid spoilers, delete your post!

I think that causes the removal of the old veins.
Even if that were true, do you really think that Greg wouldn't know it?
-
Didn't Greg say that shift+left click doesn't do anything on purpose, and that shift+right click was the new way to do it?
-
You cant get Tungsten from Lava anymore afaik.
Really? I didn't check. And I wasn't going to do it anyway.
For processing rutile, can you melt calcite in a crucible and transfer it in a burner mixer? Or do I need a smelter?
-
Yeah I just started making stainless steel to handle acids and make mixers and baths; I still have a few stacks of carbon from before the update, but I think I'll only use it to make iron. I'll go the acid route for the carborundum.
I'm still using a ceramic crucible xD I was thinking of doing a titanium-niobium alloy one and then immediately upgrade to pure niobium. But I still can't make titanium from rutile (I'm missing the chlorine).
-
Then I noticed carborundum
I'm at work so I can't check, but I was looking for a good upgrade to my blue steel tools and I never saw carborundum in NEI. Can you make it with only GT installed?

Shulker box style fluid transportation
I was thinking about medium-distance fluid transport during mid game. Too far for pipes but too close for long distance pipes (and cheap-ish).
With a fluid-o-meter you could detecr when a barrel is full, break it automatically and load it in a minecart with a hopper. When the minecart is full you send it on its way.
There's no way to automatically place the barrels, so it wouldn't be fully automatic (thus not as op), but I don't know I thought it could be an interesting idea
Edit: maybe you could make it a special propriety of the plastic tanks (automatic placing and breaking shulker box style). They require a distillation tower and don't hold that much

Is there any way to automatically break the (fluid) barrels?

I found 2 graphite/diamonds vein in my world, but they seem to spawn WAY less diamonds than fhe old world gen. I found less than 10 diamond ores and at least 2 stacks of graphite ores. Did I just got unlucky or is it intended?
-
I really struggled to get any steel before I made my first centrifuge. And the problem wasn't the graphite, it was iron itself. It took so long to gather dark ashes for iron that I had time to build a semi-decent base, make a complete set of bronze tools and a few basic machines (and their b.boxes, boilers, pipes and turbines) before I was able to make 25 iron ingots for my first steel batch.
-
Fine =P but seriously, when you make "controversial" changes to the mod (especially early game stuff) you should remind people of your plans.
I personally was scared to update and centrifuged all my ashes, because I forgot you mentioned (many months ago) that you'd eventually add a blast furnace
-
Is there a list of things you plan to eventually add to GT? 'Cause I feel it would help avoid confusion and frustration over some of the changes you make
-
Greg, didn't you mention that you wanted to add a blast furnace for steel production?
-
Greg, can you at least make it so that ashes can be used to make iron too? At double the cost of dark ashes maybe (e.g. 7magnetite + 6ashes = 3iron)
-
Not being able to get carbon from ashes seems a huge nerf to the early game =/ I know you can get iron from dark ashes and steel from graphite, but the progression will slow significantly, and not in a challenging way, as it forces you to wait for your burning boxes to burn coal (and then only get half the iron) or slowly mine a tier3 ore.
What if you just made the recepie 64RU/t? That way you need at least a dense bronze burning box and boiler (thus a compressor) and an invar/steel turbine

Hey greg
After having spent some way too many hours of mining and looking for your dungeons (found 6 so far) I was wondering If there's any lists where you can see the worldgen conditions for specific ore veins. I noticed that Tetrahedrite spawns in limestone, Olivine seems to spawn in black granite?, Chalcopyrite definitely spawns in marble, Pyrope spawns in Green shits etc, I found 1 sparse sheldonite vein in black granite too... I can't seem to find any of these conditions in your config files and you don't list them in your changelog AFAIK.
I doubt Greg will give it away =P I hope this will help anyway: cassiterite/stannite/kesterite veins spawn in marble, diamond/garphite veins spawn in basalt with black granite on top (I'm not 100% sure about this one), galena/pyrite veins spawn in limestone

I thought that only worked for ore veins like 20 blocks below, so deeper ores you can't find that way?
I found an ore vein that spawned at y=5 thanks to a pebble on the surface, so yeah they work for more than 20 blocks
