And Spacetoad is ... A frog?
Hope to god he doesn't go to France, I love BC... But I suppose you don't need legs to type ...
Isn't SpaceToad french ? I'm french, and the accent of SpaceToad in his videos made me think he's too

W/E, a test and some food later and I'm just laughing at myself
Alright, I'm just going to stick to using an ice coolant system.
I will post and updated download and pics when I'm done because I need to get the coolant system up to 10 ice per second.
Ok the new system is almost complete.
I have also added the Zeppelin mod for elevators and a quick transit system I will make in the future.
Because of this I will be including a download that has all the mods I use included in it, with instructions on what order to install them.
So far the new coolant system is producing too much Ice, so I have sectioned off 1/4th of it to an extra switch to be used when even more coolant is needed. It currently produces about 15 ice per second with both systems on.
I have also added a power storage room with reactor status indicators
If the new ice system works, I will update the OP with new screens and downloads.
Ok change of plans, please read the OP
I'm planning to build a CASUC reactor at some point myself, and now I'm curious: how the heck do you do ice-based automated cooling? I mean, I know you can use a compressor to make ice blocks, but that eats up your finite tin to make water cells which are destroyed in the process. Do you just do it in a cold biome and let water freeze naturally? Do you use a terraformer? Doing this with water buckets seems pretty easy, but how do you get ice into a fully-automated system that runs indefinitely?

There is no way to have a fully automated indefinite ice making machine that could produce anywhere near the amount needed. Thats why most of us use a magical thing called TooManyItems.
Ah. Not interested in TMI, feels a bit cheap. Will just use water buckets instead then, as that can be fully closed-loop (extract empty buckets, pipe to a pump or deployer, pipe full buckets back to reactor). Thanks for the explanation.
Someone please help me with the issue I stated in the OP!

Here comes my epic protip:
Use buckets instead of ice based cooling system

Over-flowing ice issue? Well, 2 problems: 1 that download link doesn't work. 2 The catch system is probably just wrong.
[Erg, got the link working (by copying the actual text), so you might wanna fix that, was going to a different location before. I'll see what's wrong with it.]
Firstly, your overflow system is only being pumped into the first chest of the overflow storage (the one directly below the sign)
Second, yeah seems really broken because some (maybe a lot) of the ice falls and lands on the pipe entering the reactor, so the items are hovering inside the reactor's block... I would suggest transposers, but it appears that you're not using redpower machine? (probably because it requires world... )
I suggest trying one of the sides of the reactor. The bottom seems just bad because of the trapped items.

Ok I fixed the link.
I will try having the ice come in from the side instead. And you're right on why I'm not using RP Machines. I actually messaged Elloram about the dependencies and she refused to make it possible to use the machines on their own. It seems quite stupid that she would do that because many people just want the main stuff without all the crafting ingredients (TMI).
Now for my biggest issue, how do you suggest I evenly distribute the ice back into the chests? Because with the ice only going back into one of them, the chests will eventually run out of ice and fail to complete an entire cycle.
At every T section a item has 50% chance to go left or right so just make sure each chest has a equal amount of T sections to reach it. I recomend using distribution pipes at the T sections.

Distribution pipes?
Ye from zeldos additional pipes. Those will make sure items get distributed else its still based on chance (and some bug with north-south).

K I looked up his additional pipes, but the warning at the beginning of the thread somewhat scares me. Would you mind explaining it being that you use the mod?
Thats pretty general it applies for any mod.

No I'm talking about the one for the special chunk loading blocks, or whatever they are.
Ok I've run into a slight issue, when I try to use the advanced insertion pipes to direct overflow from the reactor, the ice ignores the insertion pipe and continues straight into the reactor, just to pop out because the reactor is full.

Yeah insertion pipes (and RP tubes) don't work right with reactors because of its variable inventory those add-ons don't know when it's "full".
As far as filling up the chests with the overflow, I figure it doesn't really matter so you can just run stone pipes up to all the chests and eventually ice will get there (even though it'll choose the closer ones first) and it'll bypass any full chest and keep moving.
