With the update we will be getting a new map with a brand new AWESOME spawn town. So that is why 'I' have been holding off putting extra work into the old one. This new map will also include a new official texture pack to use with the server. You will not be required to use this texture pack but the spawn town will look like shit without it. We are working hand in hand with the creator.

We will update the new map and server once IC2 SMP for 1.8 is out. Then we will add the newest stable version of BC and Redpower. I will host a fun celebration contest during the first few weeks as well, the details though are unknown.

I am currently beta testing IC2 SMP for 1.8.1 right now.

I'm all for increasing the promotion of the great mods people spend countless hours of their free time making. I just don't like the way it's being handled with the pack and don't think it should be allowed.

I found this in the readme in the modpack download link they provided with their video. The file is on mediafire with ALL of the mods in a giant pack.

I'm all for making things easier for people, but not from someone with this attitude. People do these mods in their free time. Going out of your way to NOT ask and be polite is worse than any 'ego' the author might have. I frown upon this mod pack.

Can nukes break blocks instead of create a massive lag fest with all the blocks?

They also don't flash like tnt, they just vanish when you active them, not a pressuring issue since we hopefully will be able to disable them in smp.

Personal chests can be destroyed with a mining laser and tnt, even when not your own. The items are destroyed.

Trade o mats do not work.

Sounds travel WAY too far, I was so far away and can still hear them. The nuke reactor was so loud at 5% volume and I was about 60 blocks away. When I had the sound off and switched to the chainsaw I crashed. Need to set it up though to see reports.

Yeah I can't even use the test server, within 30 seconds I get that error. SMP

Appears I had faithful texture pack still on, once I switched it off that and to the default one, I stay online. No HD patcher is installed.

Now it's back, tried to open one of the machines and crashed, no idea what it was, furnace maybe? Now I can't stay online more than 4 seconds. Had a recycler and extractor working.

Guess my whole point is, I want that timber ability for SMP. If someone then could create a working SMP addon for it I'll use it for IR. Still don't see how then the chainsaw can't drain the power as if you actually used it on each wood block but the whole tree falls. Why you guys are so against adding it is beyond me, least the reasons.

I still think this should be in the default game like Terraria. What sense is there in floating trees after you chop down the bottom of the tree.

The point of the suggestion though is to cut down on the mods needed. Currently I can't live without timber and could care less about chain saws unless they had this functionality. I want to use them, but they are crap compared to timber. When a very high tree branches out all which way, it's nice to have it all fall down instead of having to build dirt ladders up to reach it all.

I would have to agree with the OP. How does it make sense that you chop down the bottom of a tree and it floats in the air? I personally think this should be the default part of the chain saw.

As the title says, it would be nice if the chain saw would cut down a tree like the timber mod. Basically if you chop down the bottom piece of the tree, all other parts of the tree also break and fall down.

Makes total sense ya?
