I posted a thread about this myself, and I think the solution is to not update LWJGL, and use the one provided when you force an update. Every time I was installing IC2, I was also using the newest LWJGL, which seems to break the IC2 jar.

Despite following Alblaka and Aiden's instructions to the letter, and after redownloading ModLoader, MLMP, Forge, minecraft.jar, IC2 and all fixes, whenever I attempt to play with IC2 in the mods directory, I can open Minecraft, but it freezes up at either the Mojang logo or the main menu and my computer shows a "Java Platform SE binary has stopped working" window. Interestingly, if I delete the IC2 jar, MC runs flawlessly.
To clarify the order in which I installed the mods:
1: ModLoader
2: MLMP
3: MLMP Fix
4: Forge
5: Forge Fix (vy.class)
6: SoundSystem Update
7: IC2 placed in mods directory.Error logs do not exist since ModLoader.txt claims that it loads IC2 and Modloader/MLMP, but the Java platform appears to be the source of the crash. I have updated to JRE 6u27 for 64-bit Windows, and LWJGL 2.80, but neither of those has addressed the problem. Suggestions?

Try updating LWJGL. I had the same problem the other day.
