Issue known and mentioned on the blog.
Forestry used the pre-released 1.61 API as a core file. The 1.62 differs slightly and mixing both versions causes a crash. You can manually fix this by replacing the ic2/api folder within the foresty jar with the api folder of the industrial_craft jar.

XD True, true... it has leather durability though, shouldn't use it to fight anything but small slimes or sheeps.
However, given the fact it does not absorb, but NULLIFY the damage, it's potentially superior to the QuantumSuit in these situations. And a heckload of cheaper. -
Glass > Macerating > Silicon = Alternative for circuit-crafting sounds reasonable to me.
-
Nope, it will be "Rubber Armor" preventing Damage from most natural hazards as in lava, suffocation, drowning (latter two via consuming "air cells"), fire, lightning and (less nautral hazardish) electric shocks.

-
Changes v1.50 -> v1.51:
Code- Add the first set of the new Crop System - Fix Miner crash - Fix CF Pack recipe (hopefully) - Fix Machines not reducing the input ItemStack - Fix scanner area calculation for negative coordinates
Check out the new AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING section! It includes guides and stuff.
-
Changes v1.45 -> v1.50:
Code- Storage blocks don't emit redstone power anymore by default due to interference with nearby transformers. The plan is to add a button to the GUI which allows different modes. Currently, only a "emit redstone if full" mode is implemented, but disabled by default. You can enable it via config. Watch for Transfos sitting next to your dear storages. - New config setting to disable ore and rubber tree generation - Major internal changes, outsourcing item references into the API -Overhauls regarding the system of energy storing of items via NBT Tags. This will deplete all your current save's items to 0 EU, but provide faster and more accurate access in future.
This update will deplete the energy levels of all items! Recharge them by normal means to get them back to functionality.

The IC²-Developement team proudly presents:
Industrial Craft ²
Version 1.64 SSP/SMPIf you want to support IC²'s developement, or want to thank the team in a more materialistic way, feel free to drop us donations:
Return (String) System.getMostRecentPieceOfValuableInformation();
This is it. IC², the future of IC.
While playing it, you will feel right at home again, rediscovering most of the stuff known from IC. However, once you get your machines running, you will quickly notice how smooth and well-designed everything works now. Wiring is easier, batterys aren't as twosided (on/off) anymore, new cables, rubber stuff, new machines, EVERYTHING was added.
Create obstacle courses of Metal Poles and Rubber-Sheets, explore the Nether with an Electrical Jetpack or blow up whole landscapes at once by using the Dynamite-O-Mote. Or discover the much more complex mechanisms of Nuclear Engineering, blow up your hut or burn your hands. Or grab the rusty ol Composite Vest, and start hunting Creepers with the new, allmighty NanoSaber. It's up to you, it's MINEcraft after all.
How to install, how to report errors, how to NOT bug the IC² developers:
What do i need to install IndustrialCraft / Prerequisite ?
- Risugami's ModLoader 1.1
- Flan's ModLoaderMP Client 1.1
- SpaceToad's/Eloraam's MCForge Client 1.3.1
It's strongly recommended to install these prequesite mods in the listed order onto a freshly downloaded minecraft.jar for optimum results.
Do not forget to delete the META-INF folder if you didn't delete it already. How to install the Mod itself:
DOWNLOAD
You can (and actually, must) install IC² by dropping the downloaded JAR-file into your mods-folder. If there is none, install ModLoader and just start-up minecraft once for it to be automatically created. It is located inside your .minecraft directory. If you get any sort of crashes or errors, consider first reading the FAQ, before bugging the Support section:
If you want to report Bugs; we got a Bug-Section for that purpouse.
If you got questions, considere browsing through the official IC wiki.
Note: It's the official wiki, nontheless coders of IC² are not actively updating it. Any information found/provided there can be incorrect or entirely false. You can download a artificially generated Recipe-File here!
Or pay the Dev-Team's official YT-PR-Manager's a visit:
Yes, you've heard right, now we got two specialists for promoting IC on the web. I'm sure you already heard of and watched
Direwolf20's Youtube Channel. How to setup your own IC²-Server:
First of all, you'll need to download and setup a normal MC-server. Once that's all working and you tested whether other people can connect, proceed to downloading the necessary components:- Flan's ModLoaderMP Server 1.1 v2.1
- SpaceToad's/Eloraam's MCForge Server 1.3.1
Then grab your IC²-server files, HERE.
As with the client, just drop it into the mods-folder of your server directory.
Done
You may now want to start up the server once to generate the config file and then proceed to build awesome Industrial Worlds with your friends. If you're looking for a server, check out the Server-Section of this forum.
Or just directly grab your reserverd slot on
Industrial RageIC² now provides are more or less well documented API.
If you're a modder yourself and want to create a mod implementing IC²s features, download THIS file, and add it's contents to your source-setup (MCP ned). By using the provided classes and interfaces you can in this manner create a mod using IC² features without requiring the whole IC² sourcecode.LAST BUT NOT LEAST, CREDITS
Firstly, we would like to thank the whole MCP team. Without their work, modifying Minecraft would be MUCH more complicated and time-consuming.
Additionally, thanks go to Risugami, Flan and the MCForge team, a big mod like IC² just can't live without all these base-modifications.
As well, i would on this spot thank my developer team personally:- Player - Coder & Co-Leader of IC²
- alexthesax - Coder
- Drashian - Coder
- elementalist - Coder
- RichardG - Coder
- Feanturi - Spriter
- tahu44 Modeller
- Lurch1985 Sound Artist
- The whole set of Beta-Testers, who i constantly annoyed by throwing buggy new versions at them while smiting every of their bugreport with a casual "It's not a bug, it's a feature".

1. I'm not hosting or working on the wiki. It's a community-based wiki.
2. I don't think i can bother to spend time on writing a detailed guide for everything.
3. I strongly dislike the fact BC is SELLING their PDF guide. -
:3 Compressing sugar into sugarcubes 9:1, then mixing 3 sugarcubes into a watercell to provide a super unhealthy energy drink? Sounds nice.
Not for Steve though. -
I definitely like this idea :3 Will probably implement it as part of the rubber set, given its meant to be an hazmat suit (thus its mask requiring some sort of airsupply as well).

Crashlog required.

Welcome back, employee.
To further enhance your cropxperimenting capabilites, Apertura Agricultures has dispatched a team of highly trained monkeys to deal with any arising questions.
You can find them behind this Hyperlink. A sufficiently filled bag of bananas is recommended. -
*moved*
in here.May I comment this with " *faceclaw* "

I'd like that - at least zombies are slightly useful. Villagers just get in the way and look ridiculous.
-
The only known issue with Linux in regard of IC is it's nasty habit to ignore alphabetical order, which can essentiall cause addons to malfunction if they are loaded before IC2 is.
However, i've read the most recent ML version fixes this problem. Not entirely sure though. -
What does deeply concern me is the fact that someone who is so self-serving has control of the Forge.
For lack of an official API, (and face it the rate they are going it isn't coming anytime soon) Forge has become as critical as Modloader.Honestly, what's the issue? It does't influence anything if Eloraam adds a set of hooks to Minecrafts basefiles via Forge, it will probably even imporve MCs performance XD
The only valid argument is, it increases the wormload necessary to port MCForge.
Which shouldn't pose an issue for most IC-users, given i tend to update as last of the tekmods ^^'
