Lets say this change would happen what do we get in return for this uber nerf? Would there still be any reasons to make complicated designs to get good efficiency (because thats the only reason we make them). Wouldnt this change simply turn nuclear reactors in 'spam some uran cells in this and suround them with 4 coolant = win?'.

This is IC2, everything that can be UUMed is renewable
I doubt you get much energy like that. Also kinda costly it would have like no advantages over solar, wind and water generators.
The reason nobody uses biofuel or superfuel is because its not worth it. Thats not because solar, wind and water is OP but because normal generators are UP.

First of all, geothermals are NOT OP, you will eventually pump out nether in your area and need to move every few days/weeks/months? Depending on use.
Second solars dont get dusty or/and panels dont burn out, wind in real life is not blowing constantly same goes for water.
Real life solars pump water in day and during night water is used to generate power to create more stable environment, so yeah minecraft is not best place to simulate green energy.
And dont give me that LESS FUN thing, it would be much more fun if every gen required maintenance even from time to time like once a week/month due to very slow wear, but it would be there.I want to hire you as my solar panel cleaner then since i would not enjoy doing that.
Solar perk is being maintenance free. You cannot nerf it by taking away its perk why even use it then? Might aswell remove solars from IC2 then.
And for the ppl claiming it will reduce lag on server no it wont because of the following reasons:
-Nubs will make them without realising they need maintenance. End result is tons of solars lagging your server but not making any EU.
-Pro's will find another way and spam that. Most likely that other way produces alot more lag per EU.Talk to your admin if you want to fix the lag dont ruin it for everyone.

Every generator needs maintenance, except solar wind and watermill, if there was just some mechanics that needs to fix replace something inside, not necessary fuel, but probably turbine for windmill, some coils for water and photovoltaics for solars.
Solars are supposed to be maintenance free thats their perk. Who will make solars if you remove that? Might aswell remove solars from the game then.
Iam really getting tired of ppl yelling solars are op i mean seriously look at the freaking cost. You pay for them being maintenance free. You dont pay for them being crappy.

Well, 1EU/t is i think too much for solars, my idea is to make solars 0.1EU/t and have lifetime of 1M EU, before replacing photovoltaic panel (lets say you craft solar panel with CD - Gl -CD | Gl - CD - Gl) but that top layer would make photovoltaic plate that needs to be replaced after solar panel made 1M EU at 0.1EU/t rate, because sun burned it down and corrosion took its toll. I think this would make other generators more viable, and finally nuclear power to shine since you'll make more power with uranium than solar panels.
Basicly solars would work like nuclear power plants with probably just 1 slot for photovoltaic panel that slowly wears out.I know something thats better than this: Delete solars i mean if you are gonna nerf them like that you might aswel free up a block id.

If you remove some cooling cells and some chamber it will raise the efficiency and lower the costs. Better than putting more uranium cells in it for heat.

Yellow that can probably be done using alot less heat dispensers. Dont put them next to each other you want as few heat dispensers as possible (provided it doesnt melt or go boom ofc).
