Use 243 lava buckets or use the heat configuration and let it run for 430 secs and then change it back. See the first post for all the instructions.

"lots of breeders and babysitting"? I've got a 100% automated rector in SMP just fine. Just needs a few tubes , a couple RP2 machines and a timer.

I do realise he didnt care much about eff but if it is possible to get good eff and high eu output why not? Besides with higher eff it means you can run more reactors at the same time without increasing uranium consumption thus increasing eu/tick.
Making 1 eff reactors is fun but not very realistic because you wont be able to keep them running without lots of breeders and lots of babysitting. Try this one instead:

94,17 eu/tick output at 2,5 eff. It can run well over 11 cycles in a row with only 10 min cd between the cycles. So thats almost a mk1 in reality. Now if you want more eu output just build 2 of these thats still cheaper than making a ton of breeders that you would need to keep a 1 eff running.

Upgraded :). Can run 11,63 cycles so thats coming pretty close to a mk1 because in reality you wont refuel it instantly.

small edit: i know this is an mark 2, 40 minutes cooldown is not realy that much. after i finish cycles i just cool it with water until it is not using it anymore. then fire it up again and lets go. never melted down on me

The one you posted has too much heat dispensers you could prolly do with less and have more cooling cells. This both decreases cost and increases the average eu output.
Put the block breaker below the golem. The golem puts snow on the block breaker and the block breaker collects it. Works for me with 2.5 snowballs per second per golem. You can easily expand it and easily go above 20 snowballs per second at pretty low costs and it will still be really compact. Iam gonna feed my recyclers with snowballs instead of cobble XD
A few seconds wont change the gameplay much but i think it will reduce the amount of checks it has to do per seconds by a ton. I mean its not like someone is gonna make a piston system just to get underground solar power....
Ye you could use other mods to refuel it near instantly but this list is meant to be without mods so
For a good breeder setup look at the first post it contains some breeders too.
Once my world is really advanced i use only glass fiber cables. Why? Because you got near limitless resources and resources arent a limiting factor anymore. When 2 CASUC reactors are feeding a mass fab for several days you know what i mean.

It can run almost 25 cycles IF you somehow instantly refuel it without any time loss.
I may update this topic in the future for 1.0 with both a bucket and a ice based CASUC.
Any water flowing or still will count. Just let the water flow from above the generator and all those 20 blocks will be filled.

Not if you know that EU/p and EU/t is two totally different things... It's just not explained clearly enough on the Wiki pages i guess.

No, the reactor only takes one item out of a stack per reactor tick. You need enough stacks to cool the heat added each reactor tick.
I initially thought as you do that a number of ice would be consumed in a stack but that ended up in lava, fire and other hilarity.------------------
Another thing though about these snow golems... They where added after MC 1.9 and IC2 buffed ice in 1.337 (prior to the 1.0.0 port) and now i am starting to think that ICE is OP with Snow Golems capable of creating it soo freely.
But then again, EE fed reactors are also OP... Except, Snow Golems exist in vanilla minecraft and as such has to exist in all games with IC2 in it.
That sucks then 1820eu/tick is the most you can get.
Meh fail still 2070eu/tick would be nice
