It will melt

You should divide effectiveness by 2 now, so it's 1.5 eff. And it probably use a lot of copper.
Why divide by 2? Then you get a 0,5 to 3,5 efficiency scale which makes no sense.

I saw a 420 eu/tick 3 eff mark 1 reactor.
Nerf? I think thats a very big buff.
-
There is a reason why I stuck with the "Basics" for the Quadrants. The goal of the Quadrant family is to minimize operating costs, not building costs. Also, is it just me, or are Quadrants the most powerful breeders in this topic (that won't have problems)?
So far yes but we havent seen much designs yet.
-
I'm still waiting for a reasonable breeder design. With quarter of needed resources, even if it breeds only quarter of those amount of cells
Problem is you need high heat which automatically means alot of heat capacity plating which cost alot of copper. A working quad cell setup may reduce those copper costs.
Rick So my breeder doesn't work or is it just not useful or am I really not understanding what you are saying?
This is 400 eu/t with efficiency 2.86.
I knew it was possible: 420 eu/t with efficiency 3.It requires alot of micro because it doesnt keeps its temperature. That micro is what killed breeders before the big reactor revolution.
That 420 eu/tick reactor is going to be added

I hope this breeder is of any use as it charges 160 cells in a cycle.
Heating it is probably done by replacing one or more of the depleted cells with (quad-) uranium cells like so.
Replacing the 4 charged cells with 4 fresh ones is probably only doable with RP or maybe a clever BC setup.
Mine at 30k heat is 1.6 times faster but 2.5 times less efficient then this design at 72k heat by mistaqur.Talonius already made a design with heating cells which automatically stays at 57k heat.
Also just a little detail but your design will melt stuff.
EDIT: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…0ro5hv9d46zfzq95bxh52s9qd
No need for micromanaging your reactor just put the uranium cells in it and it breeds them for ya. 4x 18 cells per cycle recharged and it uses just 1 uranium cell. 85% heat is at 59160 heat and it operates at ~58000 heat. -
But if you really insist: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…a9e2d6u9zxks88hk1b83fd728
That design makes my eye bleed too.http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…8g2me6s69yvc2od1my1isu2bk
If you post a design then atleast do it good. Dont fix a crappy design with another crappy design.
Also worth to note this topic is outdated now since its for an older version of IC2.
-
O_O thats gonna cost alot
-
I played around with the planner a bit and nuclear reactors seem to be quite a bit more powerfull

Made it even cheaper. Never use thick reflectors, they work exactly same as normal, but costs about 25% more. And it is not eff 7, because it burns components. It is around 6.5 effective with RP2 (i.e. with scrap-assisted muu generation for replacing copper), and about 4-5 eff in vanilla IC2 (because there is no way to make sufficient amount of scrap in vanilla IC2)
Hehe sorry i had to improve it. Halved the gold costs but it costs a little more tin and iron:
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…8q9xfhq1uztah114jsemcixvkWorks too with thick reflectors.

Added them to the list but i also made them quite a bit cheaper

Copied some stuff from the old topic to this one. May need some changes but i look into that later. Also checked out the new reactor planner and made 2 cheap mark 1 reactors and putted them in the list. Enjoy!!

They should use the xp for rpg stuff. The current enchantment system makes no sense at all and is too random. It requires a complete overhaul.
-
Just wait till the planner is here. You havent seen the most optimised designs yet and already whining about balance...
-
I will start adding designs to the first post once the planner is updated.
Is talonius working on the planner btw? I havent heard him in a while.
-
Considering how 99.99% of people who uses IC2 have them on automatic functions, these Furnaces will most likely will only create lots of EXP that would be lost and could produce lag if they stay in the ground.
XP PIPES!!!
-
Electric and induction should give xp aswell. They arent op because they are fast since they are still limited to how many they can smelt
My furnace room usually has over 10 vanilla furnaces in it and its not op. Speed is not the limiting factor for xp. The amount of ores you have is.

Aggresive fallout

I will start adding designs to the first post once the planner is updated.

Reactors now are twice as expensive, half as powerful and no CASUC. Grumble, grumble.
Well see about that when the planner is updated
