Any updates so far? This looks promising but by the looks of it this died.
Hard.
I will possibly continue making this. I kinda forgot about it when I started on other Minecraft projects.

Stupid spammers, I wish this forum had a report feature.
The owner should seriously upgrade this to phpbb3 or something like that. Whatever he is using now is horrible.
I fucking love your sense of high-tech aesthetics. The inside of that thing really feels like a nuke plant.
The outside looks like a basketball court, but I guess you can't have everything.
Thanks
I am going to build an actual building on the outside once I finish the inside.
How with a 1000x1000 iceblock factory?
If I can find a suitable ice creation mod. Otherwise, no.
I'll be updating this soon! The newest version will be able to run a full cycle without any babysitting.
I like reading about these reactors and all of the work that goes into them. Not this flame bullshit that I keep reading. Please don't do the 'mine is better than yours' 'nuh-uh! you're cheating' bs. I'm genuinely impressed by this reactor as my attempts at an ice powered machine have just ended up as craters. There is NOTHING wrong with using TMI to generate ice to test a concept, and then prove said concept. It's a game, no reason to try and 1-up each other in derogatory manners.
Thank you for that. I am just simply trying to show that this is an experiment for fun.
I am actually going to try and find a mod that allows for rapid ice generation...
I hope you have a good pc.
I have that covered mate
--------------------PC Setup--------------------
- AMD Phenom X4 965 3.4GHz CPU
- Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 GPU
- G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 RAM
- ASUS M5A97 Motherboard
- Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB HDD
- RAIDMAX HYBRID 630W PSU
- Thermaltake Armor A60 Case
Conclusion: you are better off making a water bucket based nuclear reactor.
I was originally going to do this, but I don't want to install the world module of RP, which is required for the machine module.
And yes, my power plant is highly impractical save for the cool factor, but because I am building this industrial world just to see what I can create, how many resources it takes to build stuff is the least of my concerns. In that sense, this reactor is a great way (for me at least) to generate 169,000,000 EU
This whole factory system will basically be designed to manufacture most every item in the game. (Eg. a pickaxe factory on a giant scale).
If I can find a mod that adds a way to generate large amounts of ice, then I will use that instead of TMI.
QuoteNow i didnt even started about the insane piping system you would need to distribute the stuff evenly
I already have that covered. I made a system that almost perfectly distributes ice to all of the chests.
EE = equivalent exchange thats a mod. You can transmute 8 glass to 1 ice and you can make endless glass with it. Problem is due to the speed of such ice factories it need to be extremely big.
Oh sorry I thought you were referring to energy.
I will look into it and consider making an ice factory. How do you make endless glass with it?
So its a reactor that can only be run with cheats.....Not usefull for ppl who play fair.
Its not meant for people who play fair
Its meant to show what can be created with this mod. Just look at that one reactor that got big on reddit several weeks ago.
Just consider the fact that it would take forever just to gather the resources to build the power plant.
Have you even downloaded the map?
Its a TMI only reactor or maybe with EE (but then it would be cheaper to make 2 of my bucket reactors).
The purpose of this reactor was to create a power source for the industrial empire I want to build. My plans are so ambitious that it would be impossible without TMI.
How can you say that this is EE? The reactor planner says EA.
Anyways, this reactor generates so much energy that I only really have to run it for one cycle to almost completely fill up my energy stores for it.
And I'm going to make 2 more of these below it, so that's even more insane amounts of energy!
But you still have to make 1300 stacks of ice per cycle. Dunno about you but do you have the time to make 1300 stacks before cycle ends?
After each cycle, you replenish the ice using TMI. Just drop it into the refill tube, or go down to the ice room.
Unfortunately there is no fast completely automated way to make ice.
1 huge flaw is that you have to babysit to make tons of ice. You would probably be making ice nonstop to keep up with the consumption (if that is enough).
Actually in a slightly updated version, you don't have to baby sit it
The ice in the system is enough to last 1 cycle in the fixed version.
Display Morejust got into industrialcraft a few days ago and all I can say is WOW this adds so much more back to minecraft, which was beginning to get boring.
I've got a nice little place going with a geothermal and an mfe in the basement with a solar flower coming down into it off the roof, got my 1st miner going (we need those battery packs mentioned in the wiki
Built my 1st reactor but haven't fired it up yet. I work in the real nuclear field so I'm trying to put myself through some IC-nuke school and become a qualified operator before I turn that thing on.
A few (possibly) retarded questions.
1. Does the nuke put out Lv/Hv/Mv/Ev? I've never found that clarified anywhere. I don't feel like plugging copper into the thing is the best way to start this.
2. does building it atop a transformer/energy storer of some kind affect the cooling too negatively or is it a lesser-of-all-evils thing
3. has anyone gotten a good way of flooding their containment vessels? maybe a better hydrodynamics mod out there that will allow for real flooding/filling?
1. It depends how the reactor. Check your EU/t and use the appropriate cable.
2. Yes, that is one less block that you can have be water cooling it. Just use a wire leading out of the reactor to the transformer.
3. Finite Water, but I haven't tried it out myself.
Whoops, I just realized that the 960 EU/t that I had said this was is incorrect.
In the simulator I forgot to put that there were only 5 reactor chambers.
I have it fixed now so that it says the correct amount of 845 EU/t.
Either way it is still better than anything out there xD
I think mine takes the crown as the highest EU/t reactor out there
Reactor Specs:
Mark II-7-CASUC EA
EU/t: 845
EFF: 4.33
Consecutive Cycles: 7.81
Cooldown Time: 7 seconds
Highest Heat Level: 1632

Well if you want something that goes all out, check my reactor setup out
That's quite a nice design you have there for a MkII.
What system do you use for providing the SUC?
I've made a ton of additions, tweaks, and updated it to v2!
