    Thanks for the feedback!

Figured to place them on the front board because it's not just screenshots - but board mods feel free to wield your godly powers if this is misplaced.

Decided on using glowstone so that only IC2 was required - but I do have a version with a built in forcefield generator too =] (Wiring for luminators withought RP2 would make the ship huge)
Slowly expanding the fleet for fun in my spare time, a biome farm sheep or a heavy industry lander might be next.

I'll add more schematics to this thread if there's any interest.

    Hey guys,

Welcome to the Colony Ships thread! (Now with added sticky!)

A selection of MCEdit schematics, BC blueprints and World Saves awaits you! Please read the thread through if you have any problems (it's only a few pages). Constructive feedback/requests/kudos posts welcome!

    Where it all started:

The 1-man shuttle and 4-man Colony Ship, designed for a small crew to quickly colonise a new planet. Onboard supplies to get you started...then it all went a bit mental =]

    EDIT: New 8-Man Farm ship!

The farm ship come much less well-equipped than the colony ship or shuttle interms of tools and machinery, but it does pack LOTS of storage, food and power generation on its frankly massive frame (over 35k blocks)!

Most chests are empty, but you'll find a few goodies tucked away if you search long enough!

    EDIT: 2 More Ships!

    Single Occupant Survival/Drop Pod (IC2 v1.64)

Spartan quarters for the most determined space marine? Mind the flames on your way in!

    6-Man Ore Processing/Heavy Industry Ship (IC2 1.64, RP2pre4)

Version 1 of this ship is a fixer-upper - our dedicated team of server engineers haven't yet got all the bugs out of the factory room, but hey that allows for some fun RP in itself - get yer wrenches and screwdrivers out folks, there's ores to be processed!

    EDIT: MASSIVE UPDATE!!

Downloads have now been organised into collections:

3 x Pics showing floor layout

Made this for my server to act as an initial base camp for plucky adventurers.

Got fed up with starting with the usual dirt hovel then ending up in some unplanned sprawling mess of a home. Figured this might impose some structure whilst at the same time allowing for easier early defense. We now have quite the stylish medieval themed hi-tech workshop

Please feel free to leave constructive criticism. Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong part of the forum.

Well, looks like TMI'ing in the chest items in creative mode was really a bad idea =[

I'll look into uploading a version with the items crafted rather than conjured up, see if that makes a difference.

Yeah, noticed that upon playing it myself.
Think it might be an issue that I TMI'd the chest items in creative where I built the ship template.
At least you still have the pellets and can very easily build another sprayer.

Looking forward to seeing any screenies of your first shelters - the sprayer creates some really unique looking structures!

(Realised I'd posted it in the wrong subchannel, figure this is best place?)

A quick and dirty survival challenge map idea for you guys to download and enjoy.
This is my first challenge map and I've decided to do something a little different from all the limited resource type maps.
If you do accept the challenge, please post screenies or vid caps of your adventures below - I look forward to reading them!

    Required MC version: 1.8.1
    Required Mods: IC2 1.23
Optional Mods: Buildcraft 2.2.4 recommended as the map was generated with this installed. Anything else is up to you.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12714486/Alien%20v2.zip <--- version 2 has a slightly improved ship with piston doors

    Mission Statement:

    Oh noes!

Captain Steve has crash landed his shuttle on an alien planet during an intersellar hunt for more ore!
Knowing that he may have to wait months for a rescue ship to arrive, Captain Steve needs to follow his trusty survival manual for instructions:

    1. Your ship is your life - protect it at all costs from all alien life forms. If they enter the ship, it will be contaminated.
    2. The personal safes onboard yourship contain tools and equipment, use your inital energy reserves wisely as it will take time to rebuild them.
    3. Use the CF sprayer to construct a simple shelter, it should protect you from the elements and hostile lifeforms.
    4. Once you have alternate shelter, the ship may be canabalised for spare parts. All components must be removed before you dismantle the hull for safety reasons.
    5. Construct and supply power to a teleport pad to allow the mother ship to beam you back up once it arrives.

    Hardcore Rules:

    1. All shelters must be airtight (double door airlocks only) to prevent contamination. Energy cabling or buildcraft pipes are allowed to pierce the walls.
    2. Captain Steve can only venture outside if he has energy in his quantum helmet and either a backpack or quantum armour on. THE HELMET MUST HAVE ENERGY.
    3. To avoid illness, Captain Steve can only eat food which has been grown within a sealed biosphere once his inital tinned food supplies run out.
    4. Any and all supplies taken from the alien world (including seeds, animal products and all other organic material and metallic compounds) MUST pass through a decontamination room before being used inside a shelter (I'll leave it to the RPers among you to decide how this should be accomplished).

If anyone would like to suggest alternative or additional rules, feel free.

I'm aware that the initial gear is very hi-tech and over-powered, the idea is that even with the lapotron crystals, Captain Steve will have a difficult time of things once his initial energy reserves in his suit run out because they can't be recharged by the MFE. Using the Q-suit's abilities will obviously just drain it faster...

    PICS FOR CLICKS:

    CF sprayer 101:

    1. Find clay, mine it, reform into blocks and macerate into clay dust.
    2. Craft 3 foam from redstone+coal dust+clay dust +bucket of water/water cell (shapeless recipe)
    3. Blocks can be placed as is, but much better is...
    4. Compress CF foam blocks into pellets to use with CF sprayer.
    5. Reload options - either one by one or 8 at a time using crafting bench)
    6. Spray foam, it splats out 13 blocks per spray maximum and tries to follow existing edges (beware, you can fall through on floors and it will drown you)
    7. Let it set (light helps it's chances to set more quickly)
    8. Add a touch of colour with a painter dyed with your choice of fabulous colours or leave as is.
    9. Wall is creeper blast resistant, stylish and come with a wipe-clean finish =]

A great fun tool, perfect for quick mob defense (although the redstone requirement makes it a little pointless for that as you'll have loads of cobble for walls) or a spot of comedy pvp drownings.

It's only problem is low ammo count, which makes large spray jobs a pain as you constantly have to run back to a bench to reload - hence the suggestion.

k, so basic setup is as follows:

    1. Hook up generator of your choice to MFE.

    2. Run MFE output through LV transformer

    3. Run LV transformer output through a series of batboxes

    4. Input to MFE again from a different face than the generator input.

You now have an MFE which continuously circulates EU (unless you put a lever on one of the batboxes or MFE itself)

    Reason for doing this:

Prevents build up of EU at the end of a supply chain, or having to stick a mass fabricator next to an offline MFSU to soak up wasted energy.

...is this a bad thing to do in SMP servers?

The bug you're refering to comes from what appears to be a mechanic of the scaffold - left clicking on existing scaffold with a scaffold in hand adds to the top of the stack. This negates having to place as you climb (which is harder than on ladders as holding shift doesn't work)

So tip: don't try and destroy scaffold with scaffold!
    =]

First time poster, long time reader.

First a massive thank you for creating the mod, has really brought my SMP server alive for my small group of friends.

    Suggestion:

A backpack which can hold more carbon foam (preferably in pellet form) for reloading the CF sprayer.

Reason: I've fallen in love with the CF sprayer as a way of coating tunnels and caves for that evil genius lair look - works really well once you start splashing a bit of paint about the place in your underground nuclear facility. We've also taken to spraying the walls of old quarrys to make huge fluid reservoirs (oil, water, lava, whatever) - yeah, sometimes I've resorted to mcedit to get more oil once we've burned our supply rather than having to expand the world through exlporation in order to find more. Obviously we prefer legit, so the materials required in Cf coating the quarry walls first are the price we paid.

Needless to say, it takes a LOT of reloads to do a job that large!

Would possibly require a new machine to allow backpack charging - charging from an batbox/MFE/MFSU makes no sense. Either that or perhaps make the pack single use.

Thank you for taking the time to read this - anyone else on board with it?
