    Me Thinking: Crap, don't want, useless, how stupid
    ...later...
    Me Reading: "you vanilla view will get a GUI, ... keep a check on the nuclear core, but you can also add some new upgrades such as radar (adding a simple minimap) sensors (which allow you to see health of nearby mobs for example) or view some other stats of the suit."
    ...later...

    Me Yelling: DO WANT! DO WANT SO MUCH! DO WANT!

    But seriously, I don't like the tools, I think it would be too hard to do as a optional add-on and it would be complicated (in a bad way). However, the power suit is perfect for an optional add-on and I'll give 9001 imaginary dollars to the first person to develop it. I'd focus on making u feel like your piloting a mech, so lots of information on gui and stuff.

    Another thought is to make the power suit less OP but specialise it, so u have a digging one, a swimming one, a fighting one, so you don't choose weapons to attach, each suit has its own weapons built in (fighting would have nano and lazer, mining would have drill and.... something). In wearing the suit you actually couldn't use your normal inventory you'd be stuck with your left and right hand weapons, but you could get out of your mech (takes off the armor) to do stuff.

    Going on another tangent you could make it a vehicle kind of thing rather then armor, so getting in the mech disables inventory view but when you get out the mech is still there and u have to pick it up. Thats just a thought I'm still leaning towards it being armor rather then vehicle.

    Anyway, that's just my musings, I still REALLY like your original idea.

    whoa that is a weird error, you shoud report it to the railcraft IRC
    Here is my confic btw but i dont think it will help
    http://www.mediafire.com/?ot318mblz6mbdgg

    Thanks for the config, I tried it, didn't change anything. It's only happening on your server, I created a server with the mods and it worked great, I also re downloaded Railcraft of-course.

    I guess I'll have to give up and try again another time, its obviously something my client doesn't like about your map as the world loads for a few seconds before it crashes.

    It says that there are 0/72 players, maybe I'll try again when I see someone else on the server.

    Thanks-anyway.

    Hi,

    I tried to connect to the server and I got the bellow error which causes my client to crash.

    I've rebuilt my .minecraft multiple times to ensure I didn't make a mistake.
    I've tried using Minecraft Forge Build Versions #251 and #268 and #58 (each time building .minecraft from scratch).

    Every time I connect to your server I receive the same error. The error is clearly occurring in Railcraft but it still could be an issue with Forge or my config files.

    I'm able to play single player fine, in creative and survival, I've even tried placing things from every mod and nothing breaks.

    Anyone have any ideas? or maybe release a copy of the config files?

    Hi all,
    Is there a publicly available list of recipes? Specifically I care about the recipe for turning Iridium Ore into Iridium Plate, I know it involves Alloys but don't know the recipe. ( I already know the recipe to get UU-Matter to Iridium Ore).
    I've looked hard in:
    Wiki people are slowly putting up the new recipes but there not all up)
    Blog - It mentions 'Will add recipe list soon' but as yet have not been added.
    Forum - So much information but none that answer my question.
    Code - I'm not confident enough to try to decompile the code.

    I'm hoping someone has a nice mircle list of all the new recipes but if not I guess I'll just wait for the wiki to slowly update.

    P.S A BIG thank-you to everyone who works so hard to update the wiki, and ofcourse thank-you to the developer.

    With MCP and 20 minutes of work you can adjust the outputs right there in the source code. I'll PM anyone the modified files I used if you ask me, and if you want a different nerf ratio than I choose (I just cut solar output in half) then I'll make it that way if you'd like.

    On my server, solar out = 1/2, wind = 0.7, water is unchanged, and nuke = 5x more fuel life.

    This sounds great, I've sent you a PM but I think your balance is kind of what I would use.

    And to answer Trifler, I think you're focusing totally on the wrong point. I'm not going to argue about what should be done with power generation of whether there is a balance issue. I didn't even realise there even was an issue with solar panels and CPU. I just think the user (or server admin) should be able to set there own balance. So Trifler, please ignore everything I said about what I would do and just focus on the main part of the suggestion: Allowing the user (Server Admin) to balance power how THEY wish. Everything else is just what I would do with this new configuration ability.

    I think simply reducing the power production of solar panels won't accomplish anything, because then people will just build even more of them. That's why I suggested changing not the solar panels themselves, but rather the cables that connect to them. If the power loss was changed to floating point instead of integer and calculated per block rather than 1 EU per X blocks, then the size of a solar array would automatically be limited.

    I'll meet you half way and agree that reducing power production wont accomplish everything. Really its just a band-aid fix but it would have other uses like being able to make only solar power work on a PVP server so people can't hide bases too well (just a interesting idea one might want to try), so many options.

    Suggestion
    I came to this forum hoping to find a way to nerf solar panels, I found a few threads saying it should be nerfed and many more replies saying it shouldn't. So why not leave it up to the individual server owners? Just make all the generators output multiplied by a variable (one for each type) and get this from the ic2.ctf file. This way everyone gets what they want, the people who want it nerfed get what they want and people who don't get to keep their server the same.
    The ic2.ctf file already allows you to customise the size of your nuclear explosion.

    I would guess that the work involved in doing this would be relatively small, and the functionality may already be in the code

    Example:
    generatorMultiplierGenerator=1
    generatorMultiplierWindpower=1

    generatorMultiplierHydropower=1

    generatorMultiplierGeothermal=1

    generatorMultiplierNuclearReactor=1

    My own Server Settings
    This way for my server I'd have it set like this (and I know some people disagree with me, that's great; diversity in servers and players is what makes multiplayer interesting):

    generatorMultiplierGenerator=1.1
    generatorMultiplierSolarpower=0.25

    generatorMultiplierWindpower=0.8

    generatorMultiplierHydropower=1

    generatorMultiplierGeothermal=1.1

    generatorMultiplierNuclearReactor=2.5

    Why I would choose these settings
    Nuclear is a big risk, and a lot of fun, I want it to be a really valuable reward so lots of people do it. I see too many people using solar as a sole supply, they log off, get on the next day and there solar has charged every battery in the house, I know I can't stop that but at-least I can make people need 4 times the stations. Same problem with Wind and Hydro but I haven't got enough experience with it. The benefit of using the config file is you can update the multipliers if you ever feel something is too OP. Geothermal is also pretty cool looking (compared to solar, my personal opinion, I'd prefer to see big lava stations then fields of solar)
