    I do like the idea of sending a satallite up (GPS?) to assist in mapping (build a GPS device similar to the EU Reader?) .. Or perhaps build a radar (for on ground placement) to aid in mapping out. Would be a nice replacement for the paper maps in the game, options of waypoints etc, though that might be going too far ..

    What do you mean exactly, how many raw ore blocks you must find? Not sure if I see the use in that .. What if you've a macerator? Just half the returned number on maceratorable items and you're good to go. ;)

    Pump that lava ocean! Geothermal generators put out 10EU/t, so 6-7 of those will give you your required 50EU/t plus some extra to run the pumps. As for nuclear reactor, you could go for a SUC (single use coolant) design, though that would require bringing in water cells/ice from the surface world.
