I just found out what fusion reactor is terribly unefficent as selfsufficent powersource. To make it selfsufficent you have make 160 basic electrolysers, 160 basic centrifuges, 32 advanced centrifuges and they consuming about 6420 eu/t without counting cable losses. MK3 plasma reactor outputing only about 22400. So 22400-6420-4056=11928 Eu/t. I can make just 150 windmills with fiber rotor and they would make as much. And they are much cheaper.
Also can i suggest "turn off cable losses" option? Because its pain to make your machinery tied together. Especially then you making some sort of automatic betwen. Factory just becoming a mess.

Why not obsidian? It would be MUCH more useful and will fit better to minecraft "logic". Of course if it will be cooled in some machine. It is painfull to dig up obsidian.

In reality you make things completely different since you are not bound to 3D-grid of cubic meter volume boxes. And game balance have to be in favor since its a game. Greg will clearly do the things what he has in mind. IMO he will do things what he thinks nessesary regardless realism or game balance as we imagine it. Only things what limits him is his own vision of things and programming enviroment. He makes realistic things if he feels like it. If he thinks what that things is intresting and worth realizing. Or if he wants to troll people a little bit (little joke there )
However how we can talk about realism if all things around are complitely abstract? Only thing what matter is to make a consistent system what have some real industry references. I dont think what ZPM or battery buffers or type sorters are real things anyway. They are grey boxes. What if them are mechanical? What if they are separating specific matterials one from another because of they physical propeties? What if they powered by the same power as item pipes? Compressed air for example. We dont know. For that purpose it consume energy in the first place? Realism generation?

Battery is barrely a sollution. What kind of automation this is if you have to replace batteries all the time? I am just want more consistency. Just want to fings been made one way or another way. I want cables and machines to have same power loss mechanics. I want automation units to not require power, because pipes are not requiring power. It is different supply line. Mixing them make construction ether less efficent or ugly.
And can anyone explain me please, why conveyour cover draining power from atached machine but can work perfectly without any power on pipe? If i can easyly avoid power to leak this way, why this leakage exist in the first place?I dont think what realism is really a goal. Complexity - yes, but not realism. Greg making a system, but it isnt simmilar to real. Its a game after all. I doubt what GT style is about inconvinience.
-
As i got it, there are 2 major goals of GT: Realism and Complexity. So complex circuits used to sort items will most likely never run of thin air.
Its not realism. It is just realated to real things. If it is realism, why do you use Tin rotors in turbines? Do you think it can handle it? Why conveyour covers dont use energy if it attached to pipes? Why do we even use pipes to tranfer items in the first place? Why not conveyour blocks? Why not make conveyor block which will behave as cable but will also transfer item? And complexity is not equal pain in the backside and mess.
Also please make higher tier generators more efficent than lower tier. Otherwise where is not point of technologicaly advancement. Its also more realistic if you care about it. Higher technology == higher efficency. Leave gain of generator the same for each tier but make higher efficency. Just a suggestion.

Negative EU gain. Do NOT use electric heater.
Ou. I tried.
uh... should be 640k EU as your heat source is free. The problem is how fast you can produce biogas.
Yes, but how much more energy i can get from heat than just using stirling generator? I mean do i get more power from biogas than i will get from biogas? Or this stuff is only good for storage and jetpacks?

Covers are complitely abstraction. Like all the stuff basicly. It is only reference to real thing. Why do not sacrifice some pseudo realistic things in order to make things more convinient? Or it is just not style of gregtech? We can place some redstone in recipe to justify the thing. Like pistons moving without electricity.

Also more modern construction matterial woud be nice. Like plastic doors and windows.
And since liquids are now significant part of crafting we need something like liquid routrer wich will prowide certain liquid to certain sides. It might be cover wich allow to go though only specified liquids. Or liquid detector which will detect presents of certain liquid in pipe and open certain shutter. Something. Because one machine can have different output so you have no choice. Or have a machine per each, or rearange the system manualy.
Another suggestion - fluid extraction button for all machines with liquid
outputinput. It will put inputed liquid in output tank if it is empty. -

I think the high pressure small boiler is the most efficent one, actually.
Sorry. I meant wich one of Large boilers. Of course small coal boiler is most efficent
Semi-serious one for the ultranerd:
How much charcoal do I need to power a 32v scanner off of two 32v steam turbines supplied by (up to 11) high pressure boilers, to scan in osmium? The above is likely best answered by 'you need a better power source' but, if anyone wants to do the math...
About 3321 lumps. OSmium scan requere 49 807 360 eu. 48 000 steam from charcoal. 48000/3 = 16000 -power gain. 16000 * 30/32 = 15000 - evil machine loses. 49 807 360/15 000 = 3 321.
