I usually burn it up either in reactor components or RP2 red alloy wire.

Not to mention, yeah, building that super power plant may have been an accomplishment for you, like my house and my nuclear reactors were for me (and the half-finished hidden temple I have), but think of how much bigger an accomplishment it'll be when you actually work towards it instead of just throwing resources you had stockpiled from the last map into it.

Honestly, as much as I liked my house, Lev raised a good point a while back. There's an unmanageable amount of wealth on the server now, exploits and dupe bugs and x-ray hacks have been used, in conjunction with the vault from last map, to make everyone rich as hell, and a fresh start with everyone on even footing might be a good thing.
I mean, I had a shop in the market district that I paid 6k for, and I had 8k or so on me. Not to mention a chest half full of stacks of metal blocks. It'll be hard starting from nothing, granted, but look at it as a new opportunity to get a breath of fresh air instead of just breaking down metal blocks to build your latest super power plant or whatnot.

That was my bad, Rick. I thought he meant he had somehow come up with a design for a Mk1 with high efficiency that output 120 EU/t, not an efficiency 1, so I told him to post it in this thread. Had I realized he was talking about an efficiency 1 I wouldn't have suggested it.

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong, but 1 efficiency...good if you're swimming in uranium or have a good breeder set up, I guess!

The best way I've found to specifically target diamonds is to do a variation of branch mining at level 17 (just above the diamond level) and bring along a lappack. Scan with your OV scanner as you mine. When you find a particularly big number, drop your mining kit there and let it operate while you check the surrounding area for more big numbers. Then, just pick up and move the mining kit to the next hotspot when it finishes.
You'll still get thrown off by gold and other high value ores occasionally, but it helps to narrow it down quite a bit.

You might also want to just make a modpack, or provide a list of links to the required mods, as distributing your .minecraft folder is...very iffy.

We wont go to a hosting site for the server mostly because the only way to be sustainable as a server at that point would be to become a pay to play server which isn't going to happen. I would shut it down before making it a pay server. I understand the server going down is frustrating...how do you think we feel? If your not happy with us there are plenty of other servers to play on.
Exactamundo. For being a free server, the Gorge is actually doing pretty decently, even taking into account crashes and lag, and the admins are spending their own time (and money!) trying to make it better for us. Think about it a bit before you complain too much about crashes and lag and downtime...Lev takes donations for the server, but he doesn't make any of us pay anything for it. The connection, the box, the issues with the technicians and all of the other headaches that come with running a server...he's paying for it all. For you.

Hosting services cost money, and for the type of equipment that Lev is running, quite a bit of it. That would be an extra expense on top of all of his current bills (since he's paying for internet anyway), and I'm quite sure that whatever donations he got, even if we all gave something to him as a thank you, would cover no more than a month or two of hosting service, after which it'd be coming out of his own pocket.
Not to mention, if something goes wrong, he has direct access to the server to fix it himself, whereas on a hosting service if a piece of hardware fries, he'd have to wait for the service to fix it. If the system hangs and locks up and stops responding to input entirely, right now he can manually shut the box down and restart it...with a hosting service, it might be down for hours, possibly even days depending on how closely they monitor the systems, before anyone even notices it.
There's other factors involved too, but those are the two biggest ones I could think of off the top of my head. Once his internet situation gets resolved, it shouldn't be an issue at all.
