Then Nope. Mid game machines already have their role pretty well defined.

Mostly because Nuclear reactors its one of the few End Game Stuff. Although i must say that adding extra blocks (maybe made from iridium) to make early and mid game stuff into end game material sounds good.

Only if you provide a link from the official minecraft.net site, any other method its in violation of the ToS. Server Jar only of course. Client Jar its a No-No in all angles.

The only reason (Like i said in the OP) to not get some wool colors its because those use some direct items instead of Dyes, If the corresponding dyes gets added i dont see why it can not be added.

Second Slot only works under certain recipes.

Iron + Coal = Refined Iron Dust
Tin + Copper = Bronze Dust
etc.

I think the recipes are in the change log.

Theres no Blue Dye or White Dye (Although i guess it can be fairly easy to create). The Chance to get or not get a dye stays though no matter what you say.

You could move the rubber wood with a hole using the apportation wand of Thaumcraft, sadly its been removed from the mod (Dunno if its temporal or permanent)
