When you update this to 1.97 can you add in forge ore dictionary since I use Forestry Bronze.

You can use a Redpower toggle gate as a switch to turn on stuff.

Tried a proof of concept for a basic solar-layer and it would not work keeps crashing on the second row I try and place. Also BC pipes don't work so no auto-crafting on the fly.

On a note u can add have ruined cables drop a special cable and have machine have a drop rate for a special machine block or special circuitry. These could be used for crafting other tech or adv tech so you mite have to save up and explore to make stuff so one ruin well not give all the stuff you need.
*edit* I have been in ruined factory too and it is a feeling that's had to come up with words for since you know at one point it was such a large and advanced undertaking when it was built but now lies in ruin. I would love to get that feel with something like this.

I like the idea of (virtually) explosion-proof walls being made of iridium. Might have to cost as high as 1 or 2 iridium per block (inb4 "that's trivial to get with my 27x27-chunk-wide cactus farm") so that complete peace of mind was suitably expensive, but once balance was decided on the implementation would be easy enough.
Ya I know I would really like to see this happen. I think it should be 2 iridium and 2 advanced alloy and 5 stone to make 5 iridium reinforced blocks.

wooden pipe + engine will return all your items.
also chests are cheap and effective nuckleat meltdown shield.
Raw I just tried the chest shield and it did not work.

Also, if you do this, make sure to put the redstone on stone or cobble. When I did this, the dirt under the redstone going to the reactor caught on fire, therefore leaving the reactor running :O
Ya mine was a glowstone pool that I had the reactor in.

I am just trying to have a way to have rooms that can be used for reactors and not be phased by them exploding so if people want they can practice nuclear engineering without putting a hole in out map.
I don't want to cheat a bedrock room into a server map where we are trying to do everything by hand.

what about attach redstone torch on wool. if wool burn down torch fall off so it stop powering a redstone. make it throuth NOT gate to the reaktor and you stoped the reaktor.
also which materials are unmeltable?
I think its all about how meltable they are. Nothing right now except bedrock stops a nuclear explosion at one block thick. Its just that wool burns so its one of the first to go.

Can't you do it without the redpower mod
I guess you can since you can put redstone on wool but I like to hide my wires.
What I did was at the bottom of my reactor I put a redstone torch to invert then signal so when the switch was off so was the reactor. I used redstone wire under some wool and hooked up the torch to the switch. So I flipped the switch and turned on the reactor. When it overheated the wool burned two blocks away from my reactor pool and broke the wire turning off the reactor.

I found this out when my Nuke Gen got to hot and burned the wool I had the wire on for a revered switch. So when the switch on so was the Gen.

This is getting way off topic I put up an idea if you don't like it say so then Alblaka and the IC2 team well pick to use it or not. I am not asking for help here I am putting up an idea I would like comment on it ya or nay and move on with your lifes.

With Space Toads permission it should bridge the gap between the two.
