Just joined the server. Looks okay so far, although the default IDs for forestry don't match the server's, so make sure you download those configs (i got really confused by an invisible beehive).
I haven't seen any other buildings around yet so I guess I should make something near spawn to make it feel less lonely. Hope to see you around!

I was playing on Enderville and I made a decent amount of money by mass-producing rubber. Apparently a lot of people don't bother to set up a rubber farm early on and are always short, especially when it comes time to make a solar array. But once you have the infrastructure it's not so hard to produce as much as you need. That being said, I don't see anything wrong with decreasing the iron requirement of solars from 10 to 8.
I get that solars were OP before and needed to be brought down a bit, but the current cost feels just a little too high. I didn't have enough resources to start messing with lots of solar panels until I was already at the early mass fab stage. When you want to get just 32 EU/t out of a solar array, that's a difference of one entire stack of iron.

Does anyone know if it's possible to make a machine to plant trees for you? I tried a Filler and it didn't seem to like being given saplings, probably since they can only be placed on dirt.

So for those of you having trouble getting quarries working, I looked into it and the problem is that quarries require a lot of steam... Wooden "redstone" engines simply don't deliver enough power. You'll have to upgrade to at least a stone engine, which functions rather like a furnace.
I suppose if you really wanted to you could just string together, like, 20 wooden engines, but that would require spending more iron and would be really obnoxious to set up.

I'm pretty sure half these mods have a "no redistribute plz" rule, so a modpack would be infringing on that. Then again, some people just distribute the whole .minecraft folder, which is even shadier. The best solution I can think of is the one I've already implemented, in which I just list all the mods you need and the order you should install them in. I guess to make it REALLY easy, we could have links to the mods' respective threads... I may get on that tomorrow if nobody else has by then.

Version number fixed. Also, I looked up what the redpower mod actually does, and frankly I'm looking forward to being able to run redstone signals up walls
EDIT: I can't post anything on the jobs board

Install order updated: here's how to build the required .jar.
Minecraft 1.7.3
Modloader
AudioMod
ModloaderMP
IndustrialCraft
"Ish" Fix
MC ForgeThe following mods need to be in the /.minecraft/mods folder, as well:
Buildcraft 2.0.1 (all files) *
Redpower 1.7.1 (all files)You may need to change the following line in /.minecraft/buildcraft/config/buildcraft.cfg
change
power.framework=buildcraft.core.RedstonePowerFramework
to
power.framework=buildcraft.energy.PneumaticPowerFramework* Fixed. Thanks levint for reminding me that we're using BC 2.0.1 right now.
note: I'm starting to think the amount of set-up required to play on this server is getting rather large.

If it's a server problem, why does the error claim it's the client's fault? That's *really* misleading. I imagine that right now, hundreds of people are reinstalling their clients in vain.
-
I'm getting the same error as Phaser. Is the server down or something?
-
Tested worked for me prob your jar try rebuilding it and follow the order modloader ,modloaderMP, Ic, ish fix, minecraft forge then buildcraft and when I get home I will update whitelist.
oh whoops, I forgot about that. I installed the ish fix immediately after industrialcraft. That might matter too.

Okay so last night it became clear through some trial and error that the order you install the mods in DOES matter. Mine works seamlessly, so here's the order I installed the mods in:
Modloader
AudioMod
ModloaderMP
IndustrialCraft
MC ForgeFinally, rather than installing BuildCraft to the .jar, I instead placed the .zip files in /.minecraft/mods.
(of course this is all taking place in a Minecraft Portable directory-- I like to keep my vanilla files intact

Heads up for anyone having trouble updating the client to BC 2.0.1: ever since BCv2, you need to install MC Forge first.

Dear Glorious and Righteous Server Owner Levint:
I can't recharge any of my tools with the Mobile Charger. I looked it up and there's a fanpatch for this bug, since official development on IC1 has stopped, but it has to be installed on the server. Could you take a look at this thread please?
-
Sounds fun. I'll check it out.

Requesting whitelist.
My IGN is nupanick, I have used both Buildcraft and Industrialcraft in SSP for a while but never on SMP. I don't grief and I tend to clean up ugly messes like craters and pillars if I see them lying around. I like mining and farming and appreciating others' creations. I'm also proficient in redstone and love to play with pistons.
