The glows change the name but not the I'd so the gloves are always the same. If the give are used up you need to repair it with leather. To make the gloves working right you have to be sure they are on the right slot of baubles, if not a warning appears. Some time you get burned one or two times before the effect protects you but I never get killed by it not on my server not in sp. you need to hold the bucket in your hand not in a different slot.
The question with the quests I not understand. If new quests are added you need to type in game /bq_admin default load and new quests are added.
I finally figured it out, thanks! I didn't have the object in hand. I was also trying to carry the tank and a lava bucket. I wasn't having a problem with the quests. I thought your solution was for the gloves. Everything is all good now.
