ahh.. a containment field... i feel wierd now..
containment field with a synchron capacitor ability is kinda wierd.
Let me explain. I tested it a while and i know explosion mechanics. Reactor explodes, destroys chambers and that let's forcefield to close it up. So explosion stops at chambers! all loot lies inside force field including chambers, so you lose only reactor itself! Got it?
yeah i guess? so that means the full explosion of the reactor will be trapped inside the "PLUS" shaped wall projector. i see.
Containment Field huh? costs are same as for everything else? 'cause now i use Wall with 1/1/1/1 matrix, 1 range (so projector won't melt) and 2 strengh modules. it is minimal required to protect you from explosion from reactor (see attachment). But containment type is easier and cheaper to build. that's a thing to consider

Awesome mod, been playing with it for a few days and have gotten the hang of it. One thing I've noticed is that no matter what I do, if I overload a reactor inside a containment field, the surrounding landscape is still pretty much shot. Now, the reactor setup is 6 uranium cells and nothing else for containment, just the forcefield walls. Yes, they do line up properly, I've checked 3 different times each wall but I'm still getting explosive "leakage". Could it be that the forcefields just won't absorb enough damage on an unshielded reactor to have this be the sole containment method?

yeah ppl who have a lot of armor can do whatever they want and also it invalidates the defense station because it take more resources to build and operate.
If teleporting players is kinda difficult to code, maybe instantly killing intruders will do? So you could steal their stuffs hehe. How was this idea thunderdark? It's self defense right?
i have an idea for multilayer instead of damaging a player inside a force field make a teleport function with you are in a restricted area message and port anyone not registered outside the field its much more effective against strong armor that ignores damage.
I think this is a good idea because you dont want any nano/quantum armored players plant nukes inside your force field right?
BTW. 2 nukes (maybe even TNT) can blow through force field if ignited at same time. I think it 'cause 1st one blows part of field up and other one at same time blows everything through new-created and still opened hole.
In that case, use the strenght modulator upgrade. I have tested it on cube force field (a shield that cant use strength modulator) and it blocks the 4 nukes that i fused.
What does the Field Manipulator do then?
It makes the cube, sphere and tube forcefield to be 'dome' shaped. Meaning it will not generate force fields below the y level of the machine.
The mob defense upgrade does not kill custom enemy mobs like the thaumcraft slime.
Sugestion: Can you make the security station or some other simmilar item kill mods with out having to put up the hole forcefield?
Why not create a tesla coil from ic2 then? Just beware of friendly fire though. And i think MFFS is created for protection, not for killing so i believe weapons are not necessary for this mod.
found a bug, while holding a MFFS synchron capacitor, right click on a shield above a bedrock and you'll fall to the void.
= Shield, = Bedrock
or
up to 4 layers of shield i guess?

by the way, my missiles still cant destroy any of the machine blocks, but it's ok, maybe im just thinking too much because when i attack a low powered shielded dummy base, all solar panels, mfsu, wires and all other stuffs got destroyed and floating mffs blocks greets me.
that's why i don't have EE on my server. the reactor force field was my best protection
but still the reactor force field seems overpowered, with one flick of a switch, you got shield and water for your nuclear reactor. and i think its more fun to sheild your whole reactor plant with a few projectors.
there is no Link card slot in the MFFS Force Power Gen. v2 in V2_beta5pre3 is it a bug ?

You're correct, in that those items didn't work, but I think I may just be an idiot. I got RecipeBook working and started clicking around. I'm going to do some experimentation at home (I've been messing with this off and on at work today). metalearza, I think you may have solved this for me inadvertently, so I thank you for that. I'll be back on here if it decides not to work on my home computer.
oh really? good to know then, i tried fresh instal here with just forge,nei,ic2 and MFFS and it just works fine. i think you just confused some stuffs with other. anyway thunderdark released a new version so we just have to enjoy it then. XD
I have not, but that would involve, ModLoader, ModLoaderMP, and Forge (some known compatibility issues there). I tried the patch yesterday to get those 2 to play nice and did not have much luck, so I really don't want to do that. How could the blocks be available, but not the recipes? I tried some easy ones like the stack of FocusMatrix or the SubWater upgrade (which I know I am doing correctly) and the output square from the crafting table is empty. I moused-over and clicked on it to make sure it wasn't just the graphic being buggy.
