No idea then. I can't find any info on there site on what version of forge they are using, but it kinda sounds like you either don't have it connected to a generator, that you have the generator connected to the output side of the storage device, or you have an older version of forge then is required for IC. The fact that you can't access the GUI makes it sound a lot like the version of forge is out of date.
With an addon pack, I think you are better off looking for support from the people that release that then here.
They'll have a better idea of what changes to block id's and stuff have been made, what versions of the mods are included, etc.

changing topic slightliy i hit a similar issue.
Opening GUI of both BatBox + Electric furnace didn't work.
Following your suggesion i updated the forge version from the 1.4.0.56 -> 1.4.1.59 + then removing the blocks in game + re-putting them down again fixed the problems. Just updating the forge version itself was not enough.
Perhaps that helps someone facing the same.
