Every time i try cross-breeding the crop disappears and is replaced by weeds... why?

I recommend making some weed-EX and then squirting it twice, that's how my crossbreeding sticks never and/or rarely get weeds.
And if you need something to crossbreed quickly, i recommend getting four roses and four yellow flowers and crossbreeding those. -
