Mining drills doesn´t works on rails like pickaxes do. Is that a bug??

Why a SABER is considered by Minecraft a PICKAXE ?
I really would like if nanosaber turns into a Sword equipment, as i want to break glass,rails, etc faster with it ^^.
Damage without activation can be the same as it is now. Enchanting is disabled so whats the problem on turning into a Sword equipment? -
It extends a regular tool instead of a sword due to how the electric tool framework works.

Rails need a pickaxe to mine not a sword besides that a additional tool in the inventory takes the place that circa 1 280 tons of gold would take.
