Using IC2 items with the API

I'm having trouble using the API to get items from IC2. I'm using IC2 version 1.0.8 and I have the API installed. I am trying to use advanced alloys in a recipe, but I'm not sure how. I've looked at the Javadoc for the ic2.api.Items and it isn't really making sense.

Also is there a way for me to look at the item/block names so I can use them in the recipe?

it has a list of all the names of the ic2 items and blocks in the items class, just do "Items.getItem(*name of item*).copy()"

or is you want even easier, jut get f4113ncore
