[Suggestion] Configurable cable energy loss.

  • I am unsure if there is a way to do
    this already, but I would love it if an option was added to the
    config that would allow you to set the amount of energy loss per
    block for each cable.

    Would make things like power lines a little more
    feasible and of use along with some other fun stuff I am sure.

  • Thank you for the suggestions.
    I think I shall look into GregTech, although our server is already flooding with mods, cables with less power loss over distance is still something requested by the user base.

    By the way, you can transfer "unlimited" amounts of energy lossless using glass fiber and transformers (to reset the loss).

    for 512 EU/t
    1 MFSU -> Glass fiber (up to 39 long) -> MV transformer -> glass fiber (39) -> MV transformer -> glass fiber (39) -> ad infinitum.

    for 2048 EU/t :
    4 MFSU -> Glass fiber (39) -> HV transformer -> glass fiber (39) -> HV transformer -> glass fiber (you got it right?) -> ad infinitum.

    for 2048*N EU/t (N = How many HV transformers needed between each section of 39 fiber cables)
    4*N MFSU -> glass fiber (39) -> N HV transformer -> Glass fiber (39) -> N HV transformer -> glass fiber (39) -> ad infinitum.

    Brilliant! I had never considered
    something like that.
    Thank you very much, I shall be sure to share
    the information, I can already see power lines everywhere.
