My electric blast furnace keeps swallowing steel dust I feed it, without giving me any products. I'm 99.999% sure that I haven't done anything wrong, the structure is correct, or at least the machine doesn't complain about it not being so, it is all in one chunk, I feed it with four energy hatches, in turn fed by 4 basic stem generators that all have enough steam, and they are placed right next to the energy hatches, so resitance from cables shouldn't be a problem. Yet when I put the dusts in the input bus and start the machine, they are consumed, but they never emerge in the output bus. I'm on 5.09.22, is this a know issue or something? Does anyone have any idea what to do here?

Not really greg specific, but donning a full hazmat suit makes you immune to lava. Quite useful if you collect lava as fuel, had no idea until I fell in lava after refuelling my reactor.

Basically just a gadget to determine if blocks within 10-20 or so range are solid or not. Would be good for underground bases so you don't expand into a cave with all the hassle that comes with that.

If I had unlimited resources I'd probably just make insane amounts of generators and feed them with tubes. Why build a reactor or renewable power if you have unlimited coal?

Good ideas (I think), didn't go over them too carefully as they all seemed kinda complicated, and I think I have an easier solution.
Wire the reactor to a storage block, then a detector cable to another storage block, then redstone from the detector cable to a repeater with a slight delay, and then through a NOT gate (look up how to build one or just use redpower), and then to the reactor.
When the block after the detector cable is full, energy will stop flowing through it and it will stop emitting a signal, the NOT gate will then start emitting a signal that stops the reactor. But how to start it again? Here is where the repeater with the delay comes in, it's there to ensure that the first block gets a small charge after the 2nd one is full, and thus, when the 2nd one is not full any more, energy will flow from the 1st to the 2nd, thus turning on the reactor again.

im not sure what you did wrong form the picture did you install the .mod file from the link on the first post (thats what did it for me) after you install that you still hve to update 1 or 2 things but that makes it alot easier
glad to see so many new people join the serverI don't see any .mod file in the first post, I'll probably wait untill all dependencies are available in one file, including modloader and anything else that goes in the jar, found another server with less crazy dependecies, but this one some how seems nicer.

I've tried to install the mod required to join the server, but it doesn't seem to work, I've used the mod pack from the link and downloaded all goes-into-jar-mods separately.
When I try to start minecraft this: http://pastebin.com/PZPNj2HJ happens.
What versions is used should be apparent from the pastebin, but as the modpack was out of date I used latest version of IC and advanced machines.

I've been thinking about this too, and by combining build craft with equivalent exchange you can use the fact that 2 glass can be transmuted to 3 sand, which can then be smelted. Now you have an infinite source of glass, and 8 glass can be transmuted into ice.
I just built a small proof of concept ice-factory, but the downside is that it only produced ~2 ice per minute, and from my experiments with reactors and ice I know that that isn't really cutting it.
This was, however not optimized, and perhaps something more efficient could be done with bc2.
