An electric version of Forestry machines would be ultimately what I want, but not sure if you'd be capable of doing that.
An energy ejector upgrade for IC2 machines so that they can send power out of a selected side could be cool too. -

Currently there is no way, you get the old "Better than iron" achievement by taking an iron ingot out of a furnace
Achievements really haven't been looked at and so no, there is no way past just cheating it.
