That could be the research for tesla coils and/or insulation, to prevent that.
Where you have to deal electrical damage to living thingies (that includes you), not necessarily death.If this ever does get considered, we'll need a seperate post for all these ideas to be collected

Trying again from scratch really won't help anything, I'd rather have buggy blocks than no blocks at all. I expect not ALL his code is useless

Well, researches could be player-file based, where you have one in the config of IC², and that one keeps all our information about your researches.
Also, the research file should be easily located and transferred/copied to other computers/MC installations if needed.Or making an online cloud storage where it is constantly updated and downloaded (once IC² detects that player on a new MC environment).
I'd say cloud would be best, and a local copy made too, so you can still play offline. It would probably update like any 1.6 library seems to now. -

It has a much more open way of distributing your own mod packs than Feed the Beast ever did. Pretty sure fixes for mod "incompatibilities" are just renaming your launcher save directory, which the 1.6 update ironically did

Thats why i said that researches should be directly linked to the player, where they only have to go through the research only once (or more if he resets that information intentionally), independant of worlds saves.
Actually a really good idea, no idea how you'd actually do that, but a cool idea. How would you research stuff, random things hammered together? -

People would get sick of it after the first time they went through as it would all be the same. Which version of Thaumcraft are you wanting to base the research off?

It was obviously going to be, the mods were buggy and largely untested before Fallen disappeared.

Just a warning, Technic and Tekkit aren't very welcome here due to their infamous past.
People still complain about that? The Technic Launcher doesn't even have a Technic Pack anymore -
