What really blows my mind is how a bunch of overworked, unpaid volunteer modders are basically fixing minecraft and making it a great game while the guy who makes millions of dollars off of it does virtually nothing (nothing good at least).

So much for the profit motive.

    Long live the community!

That's what they call commercialism. Doesn't matter who works, it's the one grabbing the chair first, who wins.
Notch copyrighted Minecraft = Cash. Bill Gates copyrighted the most basic element of Windows = Ultimate Cash.

But hey, i got other projects i will later on try to make money of, with my own ideas :3 And if i got a fanbase of multiple thousand people following everything i create either way, that shouldn't hurt.

I guess you could create a "magic paint bucket" that automatically topped off any painter in use regardless of color X times. I don't think players getting "free dye" will have much negative impact on the game. Perhaps crafted from 3 uu-matter in a V shape. That uu-matter is amazingly versatile stuff after all.

How about a backpack that produces infinite dye from stored UUM? :3

edit: waitwaiwait! Even better: Painting boots! They eat up UUM/energy, "power" painters (just like batpack > tools) and additionally PAINT FLOOR BELOW YOU if you're holding a painter equipped.
This could be the start of a new generation of Paint Wars :3

The only way I see this actually working is to assign every item possible an energy cost. Said energy cost would be based on the ingredients and permutations required to construct the item. For all of the normal minecraft and IC2 items this could be pre-calculated; I'd highly recommend adding buildcraft and RP2 items to the built in list too. For any other items it would have to work backwards through possible recipe paths until it hits known cost ingredients. The cheapest path should become the price.

Said price could be paid directly in energy (built in UUM creator that never exposes it) or in energy and UUM (works sort of like scrap does in the mass-fabricator; but reflects the high power of UUM) (also at higher speed here).

Ahem, if i write a recipe-reading code capable of calculating costs based on recipes, why don't i just use same one for the basic IC recipes as well? Redundancy much.
Wouldn't work, however, because any sort of refillable item would instantly cause a lockup.

-CF Sprayers can now be used to "fill up" Scaffolds by rightclicking them. The foam will EXCLUSIVELY fill the scaffoldblocks (will drop scaffold). Easier to use for building stuff.

    Coolest change imo.

Jup, decided to implement that one after building a small foam-house.
Took me about 3 times longer then building it with basic material.

No 1.9 either way. We either stick with 1.8 or move to 1.0 if other mod developers do as well.

Eloraam and Player are quite happy about the upcoming "release", as they want to stuff in another load of hooks within MCForge without being afraid of another update frenzy.
I seriously doubt the title "release" will change anything about Notch's update-madness though.

Many people don't know that they can... and of those who do, some simply don't know how. I would have presumed that only certain people could update it, as I don't see any edit links on the page.

I think there's an assumption among Wiki veterans that everyone knows how to edit a wiki - that's not true. Many people who use it as a reference source have no idea what they are able to do, what they are permitted to do, or how to even go about it.

Definition of wiki is a library anyone can edit.

Don't call me a wiki veteran, i can't exactly write wiki syntax either. But i know it's possible :O

This is ADLMDD Alblaka, requesting all Beta-Testing units on standby, copy that, over.

We have a new version inbound, all soldiers arm the fighting stations, get your consoles locked'n'loaded and polish the keyboards.

Operation "v1.3" will require a fully fledged testing assignment. I exspect 120% from everyone, the enemy musn't prevail.
Your secret tasks, codenamed "Changelog" will be assigned with this briefing, ensure to checkup every single of then to provide this operation with maximum debugging effectiveness.

    Changelog:

    New Stuff:
CF Backpack - As the name implys, carries loads of CF-pellets to make spraying easier. Requires a canner to be filled.

Your weapons can be found here:
    http://player.to/ic2/dev/industrialcraft-2-client_1.30.jar
    http://player.to/ic2/dev/industrialcraft-2-server_1.30.jar

You will require the casual ML/MLMP gear, take note: The new army uniform "MCForge" now comes in 1.1.3 format, go for it accordingly.

    Over and Out.

PS: Ignore the military language, probably played too much ArmA II in the last few days.

Wait, it counts every item instead of 'the stack' as one item? I haven't actually set this up.

There's also the fact that I can't seem to figure out how to 'side down the pole' in SMP. (Boots off == me fall and die. My pole /is/ abusing the space between it and RP2 tubes for my movement though... is open space outside the pole block required?)

If you're sitting in between two blocks, it may happen to only trigger the collision code of one of both, not sure about that. But it COULD cause you to fall like described ^^
