Awesome work Zudguard! I was just thinking today that I should create some factories like this for some of the more annoying-to-make IC machines like solar generators :D.

If you want some suggestions for additions -- I'd look into Diamond pipes. You can use them to filter different items in different directions. So that way you can put all your 'materials' in one big chest, and then as they get pumped out, they'll be filtered appropriately.

If you want some ideas, check out these 2 videos of some of my factories (also totally legit, no TMI involved, though I am using Equivalent exchange):

The first signs of a nuclear reactor getting close to critical is water evaporating (which of course then causes the reactor to heat up even faster). It also causes fire around it, and generates some lava.

Then it disappears, leaving behind a big hole filled with lots of tears.

I'd wager that yes, you got close to overheating. Did any of your coolant items inside get destroyed/changed?

also if you place a tree block down is there a chance that a resin spot will be on it on it or do those only happen as part of the sapling turning into a tree?

#1 -- Not sure, never tried, but i doubt it.
#2 -- Definitely doesn't work -- resin spots only appear on them when they grow from a sapling.

I did post this over in the Tutorials section, but I'd really appreciate some of you Nuclear Guru's reviewing the video, and giving me some feedback.

Target audience: People who know nothing about nuclear reactors.

Intended Purpose: Teach them the basics, so they can get a good jump start :).

FYI - I posted on the ForceField generator add-on post, and asked Thunderdark to check out this forum post. He messaged me saying he likes the idea, and the interface I describe is VERY similar to the interface he uses for the ForceField generator. Hes going to try to work on this for us :).

Just a heads up for you addon creators :). I'm pretty sure alblaka and team probably saw this already.

Does this open the door for BC machines powered with ic power, and vice versa? Or ic pumps and BC pumps and empty cell interaction?

Maybe the recipe requires fully charged crystals? Try making them, charging them, and then using them in the recipe

I agree -- one of my first frustrations was not being able to power machines with crystals. I tried to put an energy crystal in a miner, and sad face -- it didn't work.

So now I had to build an MFE, LV Transformer, some cables, and yea - i can do it. But you need a good million EU for a full miner operation, so your best bet is to bring out an MFSU, Lapo crystal, MV transformer, LV transformer, and a bunch of cables. Add in the required Miner, mining pipes, drill, scanner, and chest - thats a lotta stuff to carry on your toon!!

Thanks :). I am trying to get more people aware of these forums/this website, and hopefully getting the mod HERE as opposed to through the Technik pack.

I did something like this in my lets play. It uses redstone and tin with autocrafting tables, and a complicated piping system. Works well :).

Not infinte energy though. Remember, it uses resources to do all this. Specifically you need 2x redstone to make 1 lava..

I like the Idea and it would implement..

I think ideally the Holographic projector would be a seperate machine from the force field generator :). But its up to you.

Yes they destroy the cell, and remember that lava doesn't work like water does, in terms of 'Infinite Source"

I'd personally like to see pumps work like the BC pump, where it goes in and sucks up all the water/oil/lava on the surface, and then moves down 1 level and sucks up all that stuff, etc etc.

That, or a BC way to get the lava from pipes/storage into a bucket/cell.
