How much I've come to rely on this mod:
I was macerating a bunch of ore today and thinking "man, this is taking a while... I should really upgrade these things to rotary macerators. What was the recipe again? Oh, yeah... not in 1.64 yet
"
Unless you equip said Macerators with the overclockers. But even then it just doesn't feel... right.
I can't wait for this addon to be updated.

I think the whole 1/8 chance of getting scrap is a case of experimental probability. If that is the case, then the RNG does not like you very much.

Hi ultimate_omega,
I'm starting to see that as disabling sound being the only option for now. It is just depressing for me because I got a taste of what a wonderful sound-filled game Industrialcraft could be, but then I have to take it all away because of a silly crippling bug (why can't we just hotfix it by disabling all sounds past a certain hearing radius?).
I thought Audiomod didn't work with forge. I might give it a shot to see if it does anything.
Audiomod works. Forge doesn't hook itself into the soundsystem (EqEx uses Audiomod).
Actually, I'm not entirely sure, but I think it might be possible to cut the sounds off beyond, say, 15 block radius? Can we get a Dev in here to double check?

Thanks for letting CPW have one step closer to total world control
Nah, that should be "Total Industrial Control"
But on a serious note, cpw does a lot for us who want mods whose author have gone MIA (not including this one anyways). Thanks cpw!

Just disable the sounds via the config file. The soundsystem is still buggy due to the fact that (I think) it's very experimental code at the moment. I don't claim to know much in this regard due to the fact that I'm just starting to learn Java and haven't even come close to touching this kind of arcane code yet, but I can see how tough this is to implement without relying on the Vanilla sound system (which I think can be bug ridden as well at times.)
Edit: Okay, just noticed your edit. Honestly I have no idea for a workaround. Maybe try installing Audiomod?

Although harsh, I have to agree with you, if I stand from your perspective. IMHO, this is one of the best moderated forums I've seen, although with tough bans, it keeps the forums clean and easy to use. It is hard, and probably not correct, for us, the users, to make assumptions based on what we've seen, as more than likely, the post has been deleted before we can even form an opinion on a user. And ook, although the moderators may seem overzealous, it's for the best, as stated previously, the forum is quite tidy and easy to use.
Agreed. Completely unlike some areas on the MCF. *shudders*

Check the config file, I think there's an option to enable the Redstone inhibitors.

Agreed, the EU storage additions help when I have to edit my EU gen procedure and want the machines to keep running.
I suppose, code-wise, this wouldn't be too hard to code:
1) Have the machine's code look for the Battery upgrade
2) If there, then creates a string on the GUI showing the charge. But not entirely sure how that would settle when it comes to metadata. Can't items hold a lot of extra data?

Okay, my
on this.
I can see the value of Coal in the making of the Nano Suit, the Carbon Plates for the Advanced Machine Blocks, etc.
And really, the only use Charcoal has is burning in Generators, and even then it's limited to that. What I propose is that Carbon Plates can be made from Charcoal Dust, but said dust can not be processed into Diamonds.
But in this sense, a lot of the machinery in the higher tier will have to be nerfed to accommodate the easily accessible Plates for their Adv. Machine Blocks.

I'm more than happy to PM you the code for the folder manipulation for MC, it was a bit of screwing around to get it right! The update checking is mostly XML manipulation but I'll send that too.
Not at the machine with the code so I'll send it to you in about 4-5 hours...
That'll be fine. Thanks a lot. Actually, I'll PM you my email if you could send it there; it's 10:47 where I am and I'm dead tired.

Net code I can reverse engineer, and read up on if need be. Just the manipulation of the .minecraft folder would do.
File manipulation gets to me.
I can understand how much effort you put into this, and how hesitant you are, I'd be too if I were in your position. Honestly, if you don't want to, then I can understand, I'll work it out.

Viper, I was wondering if it would be possible for you to send me the source to this installer as I am currently in the process of self-teaching myself and would like an example to work off of. If you would like, you can remove parts you think would be too... sensitive for me to know (like the IP (I'm assuming) used to update).
But, I would be happy if you can leave as much of the net integration intact possible, but, of course, it is your choice.

Thanks so much you are a lifesaver.. Man I have not has a lifesaver in like 15 years... Wonder if they sell them still.
They do.

Kinetic energy from the machine operation in case 1, in case 2 a fairy messing around inside the machine.
Link: NAVI! Stop messing around with that thing! Don't even know where it came from!
Navi: Hey! Hey! Listen!Sorry, I had to. But, on topic, I have heard about kinetic energy being reused to help reduce energy costs. But that fact is sort of moot considering initial energy cost and the amount of time for it to get warmed up.

So I just noticed that my macerators, compresssors, and extractors have an additional four slots to the far right of the normal GUI. Is this related to the new module system, or is it a buildcraft/redpower compatibility thing, or what?
Module system, power expansions, transformers and overclocking. Should be on the wiki, hopefully.

Try updating Forge. You're getting a IOreHandler error.
