Good to know Al. We'll all keep an eye out.

Well, a freezing option for the nuclear boys might be fun to play with. I know they use a bit of ice in their designs, so....
Ice cells, maybe, maybe not.
Well, let's see. 1 bucket of water holds (for rounding's sake) 1m^3 worth of water. So in this sense, if it were possible that the freezer unit would have a built in "Ice Cube Tray" that could hold this much water, supply it with MV (for balance reasons, plus IRL freezers have a tendency to take a bit of power), and it would out put a few cubes of ice, that could either be crafted into full sized ice block in a sort of tier-type system.
Small chunk -> Med. chunk -> Ice Block
Freezing water? Maybe.
Lava buckets to obsidian? No, you can already combine 2 lava and water cells to get one block of obsidian.
Grow crystals for what purpose?
Judging by the OP, I'd say that the purpose would be to be able to produce small amount of Redstone crystal from plants and turn it into RDust via the Macerator (perhaps).
You know machine blocks can already be broken back down into refined iron, right?
Or did you mean fully built machines?
Pretty sure the OP meant fully built machines/tools.
I would like something like this. +1
Does RailCraft have this implemented?
It's got something similar. Just hop over to the MCF board for RailCraft.
Usually they're stored somewhere... On my linux setups I have a script I run which runs the launcher; crash dumps end up in the laucher's directory since that's the current working directory when I run the script.
On windows try looking inside %appdata%\.minecraft\
Good to know there are other Linux users around. And yeah, also the crash log is often printed to the terminal if you're using it.
On Windows, check the ModLoader.txt file or find an error test batch script (quite a number floating around the MCF) and use that.
Which mod allows one to add the ID of the IC2 chainsaw to the "fell a whole tree with one chop" list and the RP rubber trees to the "trees that can be chopped down with one chop"? Is it Treecapitator? Does this mod allow me to remove basic axes from this list?
Yeah, it's Treecapitator. Mind, that the whole leaf-removing part was dropped....
Whoops, reread it. No, Treecapitator will not allow to quickly get rid of RP2's RTs, but I really hope that DaftPVF is working on it.
Well, if you haven't yet, there is the API that the Dev's have provided that could help point you in the right direction. But, I think F4113nB3ast has created a forum dedicated to IC2 modding. He's got a couple of add-ons already posted (f.e. DeFence) in the Pending Add-Ons section.
This suggestion gets my +1 as well. Funny thing is, I was thinking about that as I was busy overclocking the processor of my home Minecraft server. Bit of irony/coincidence there.
That looks interesting, but It's non-SMP which is basically where I am at right now.
I figured I might point that out as I have decompiled both SSP and SMP, and minus the network communication code, the two are somewhat similar. I have been poking around inside the code to find a way to use MLMP and Forge to send the "combination" packets from client to server and back. Also, I thought it might give some inspiration.
If I hit something, I'll let you know.
Thanks, Alblaka, I did see iron fences, but the name threw me off.. I had no idea they would be used for vertical transport! Perhaps consider renaming them? I'd have to play around with them first, but if they actually do serve as a fence and not just a means of vertical transport then never mind.

The Iron Fences do act as fences, but when placed vertically (20 fences max), then attached to a Magnetizer and wearing metal boots (Iron, gold, bronze (I think), nano, and Quantum) you will shoot up the pole, and shift-walk (sneak) into the pole to go down.
Do you have the 1.8.1 Forge version installed?
Also, you only need ModLoaderMP for 1.8.1
Hey, lishid. I was browsing the MCF finding new mods to pad my mod collection when I ran across the mod: "More Storage" which has a password lock in it. Perhaps you could talk to the creator to find out how he coded the lock. It uses Forge.

And you know this how?...

That's why one keeps seperate folders for their modded and vanilla minecraft installs.
I use this batch file for my current 1.8 modded install:
Incidentally it also makes the install 100% portable, I can just dump the folder on the flash drive and copy it to the laptop later for play there.
Yeah, I'll keep this in mind from now on. I screwed up on Windows (accidentally updated), but the copy I have over on the Linux half of my HDD is still 1.8.1.
Does anyone know how a similar feat to the batch file could be achieved via a bash script (*nix version of the batch command)?
Oh, just as a note and suggestion, to all those that have problems with their machines vanishing after reentering their world, I think F4113n forgot to register the machines (similar thing happened to me with the nuclear reactor, I think the thread might still be under bugs).
The Aether mod uses an API that is very incompatible with Forge. That's why. I'm not entirely sure if anyone has actually gotten the two to work together.
No, you're good.
And, just FYI, they work through wormholes in the quantum foam to artificially created pockets of subspace-time, where all the zero-point energy gets sucked out, the pocket reaches maximum entropy and collapses, and the ZPM becomes nothing more than a very nice paperweight.God, I am a nerd. Still, it would be pretty awesome to see one in-game. I can imagine what you would plug it into... xD
Thanks for the mini refresher, and don't worry about being a nerd. We all are at some point in time.
Oh, if you guys want to give a high energy storage device a go, try out the AdvGenerators addon, the creator added a Plasma-based energy storage (stationary and portable)
