The cool thing is, it could go one step further. With AudioMod, additional custom sounds could be added.
Take a look at Equivalent Exchange for an example.
The nice thing is, AudioMod would not be a requirement or dependency for IC2 users, it would just enhance the sounds for those who do choose to use it.

    Well, theoretically at least.
Turning matter into energy is easy - we do it every time we burn something (though the return is poor and there's a lot of waste). Nuclear power is about the most efficient return we've gotten on this, but it still does not yield a 100% return.

As for turning energy into matter - it's been done in labs, but the amount of matter is minute, and the energy required is again far more than the return. Scientists have also been able to transform some elements into others, again at a very lossy cost in energy.

But theoretically, yes - matter can be turned into energy and vice versa.

This your personal opinion. Whether also you you will decide them to use or not.

The fact that it takes 12 Million EU to create the UU-M your recipe requires is not "opinion" it's a fact. It's also a fact that the panel needs to run for 200 minutes before it will pay off that investment at all.

Respectfully, the only people who will use such an add-on are people who are bad at math, or who are blind to the concept of cost to benefits ratio. I don't mean to flame you, but your recipes are not sensible in the least. They seem to be made by someone who feels that basic solars are too cheap and need to be made more costly, without any thought as to balancing what you get in return.

But you receive free energy and no need fuel...

Hello? It costs energy TO MAKE. The Advanced Solar Panel needs to run for more than three hours before it generates more total energy than it cost to make the UU-M that went into it.
I'm glad you and your users like it, but I think anyone who can do the math will realize that it's not "free energy", it's throwing energy down a hole. It's foolish to spend 12 million EU to get the UU-M needed to make a generator that outputs 50 EU/t.

I did not mean it takes 3 hours to craft them, I meant that at 50 EU/t, it takes more than 3 hours for your generator to output the 12 Million EU it costs to fabricate the 96 UU-M needed to craft them.

You may think it's sensible to make a solar panel that requires the energy of a nuclear reactor to make, but I think you're out of your mind. I don't plan to use it - I'll save my energy and apply it directly, instead.

I think that the "standard" advanced panel is too hard to make, and that the advanced advanced panel produces wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much power.

My comment on his original recipes still stands - it's obvious that there has not been a cost to output breakdown. The cost of materials means these generators are not feasible sources of power, as they take too long to pay for themselves.

The Advanced Solar Panel requires 24 UU-M worth of materials (12 raw UU-M, 9 for the diamond, 2 for the redstone and 1 for the glowstone) for an energy cost of 3 Million EU. Even if you have all the materials except the required raw UU-M, that's still 1.5 Million EU. That means that the panel has to run for at least 125 minutes of REAL time before it breaks even - and that's assuming it's all daytime. Otherwise, it's a lot longer - especially if you had to fabricate the other materials too.

The Hybrid Solar Panel requires an additional 84 UU-M minimum (assuming you provide the 3 diamonds) for a total minimum energy cost of 12 Million EU to produce the panel. This is assuming you have enough scrap to constanlty get the multiplier.

So, a Hybrid Solar Panel must run for 200 minutes - more than THREE hours of real time (again, assuming all sunlight) before it starts providing a profit on the energy.

To summarize, I respectfully submit that these recipes were poorly considered. The author obviously thought it would be "cool" to make the recipes require exotic materials without giving any thought to the fact that one must dedicate the full output of a Nuclear Reactor to make a solar panel. Does this sound absolutely absurd to anyone but me?

Could you upload a 1024x1024 Version of that, so it can be used? It looks amazing.

It already should ne a 1024x1024 image. That's what 64x means - 64 pixels by 64 pixels per tile, so a sheet is 1024x1024.
You should be able to click on the image or the link to get to the full size image - but I notice that for some reason that's returning it as 720x720. No idea why, might be due to Photobucket.
You should be able to just resize it in Paint.NET or GIMP or any other image editor that supports .PNG files.

It looks even more awesome than before - nice to finally get a look at the drill head and how that goes together.

My only complaint - as far as I can tell, there's no way to see where you're going from inside the machine (naturally, the drill head must occupy the entire front diameter of the vehicle). I'm hoping someone can come up with a suggestion for a way around that. Otherwise, it will only be a matter of time before someone drives their expensive TBM into lava...

Oh, absolutely. I think there's an impression that I treat everyone the same way - and that's hardly true. I'm very helpful to people unless they start with an attitude (in which case I'm merely trying to speak their language) or if it's clear they haven't made any effort on their own part (in which case, why should I?)

So those who think I'm not "nice" enough generally aren't nice themselves, and/or not particularly smart, either. To them, I say: "I'll try being nicer, if you try being smarter" 8)

All i need is some alchemical coal aggregator and destruction catalyst, everything else is just meh. :)

I liked my Destruction Catalyst... until I upgraded it to a Catalytic Lens.
Who needs a Quarry when you can make a 9x9 hole to bedrock in seconds, and all the output is placed directly in your inventory?
Yes, EE is broken, unbalanced and abusive - but it's a hell of alot of fun.

    Off-Topic

I guess you couldn't contend with my points, so your only resort was a personal attack.. And you call me a douchebag...
I presume you feel free to be "Blunt" here because you know a post like yours would get you at least a warning on the Minecraft forums. So now you'll get to see just how forgiving the moderators are here by comparison.
Be thankful that you're free to talk like you do... and wait until it sinks in that your behavior is no different than that which you scorn.

It's not like no one knew it was coming and they didn't release several PRs to get mod authors the chance to see what was coming. I was pretty surprised frankly that 1.337 came out and it was just a bug fix, feature release.

So it sounds like you think it ought to be out for 1.0 by now? And by "ought", you mean you're "owed" it? That there can be no reasonable explanation for the delay - and if there is, you're OWED an explanation?

That is unless of course you just want to create a community of elitist a-holes who circle jerk about how great they are and how the rest of the world is filled with idiots.

I've found that "elitist" is a term only used by people who don't like the fact that they're not as smart as other people. See, someone who has some common sense and makes a little bit of effort finds the answers are already there to be had. It's the lazy, the ignorant, and the self-entitled who just waltz in and ask the same question that's been answered over and over rather than taking a moment to do some research. Basically, that's an attitude that says "My time is more valuable than yours, and I can't be bothered, so you do it for me". Want to tell me why it's wrong to feel I'm better than that?

I'll point out that fully half of all people have an IQ of 100 or less - so it's simply a statistical fact to say "Most people are stupid". If it makes me "elitist" to say so, I'll note that at least I'm in better company.

But if you thing just banning people is going to change that you are mistaken. But if you spend a bit of effort to explain why It's a pain to update things people might start to educate others.

We've already explained why it's a good policy, but that hasn't seemed to "educate" you. Then again, by your own admission, there was a 95% chance that it wouldn't.

I don't think you quite understood what I meant,
What I mean it to leave IC2 cables as they are, and add completely new objects that support the micro block code necessary to work with covers and function like they're equivalent cable types, so the add-on would require IC2 and RP2 while leaving IC2 free from dependencies and shouldn't require changing base code.
I know you can add new cables ( the science mod does so) it just depends weather you can make new cables implement the RP2 jackets cable type code

I don't think you understand that what you are requesting requires that dependency and those changes.
Sorry, but I think Eloraam and Alblaka understand what would be required a lot better than you or even I do. Feel free to ask them if you require additional clarification.

Sorry, but my posts can never drop to your level. For one, my spelling and grammar are far above your own. Any errors are due to the fact that I'm a clumsy typist.
Getting through to you means banging my head on the keyboard - not merely out of frustration, but also to inflict the requisite amount of brain damage to "dumb myself down" to your level - and also because then my posts will look like yours!

I'm not trolling you, I'm simply wondering why you're so reluctant to accept the challenge. I have no personal stake in the outcome and I have my own opinion on the issue. But you're making a lot of claims and then evading substantiation. I've stood up for you when I feel you are in the right (for instance, regarding your budget reactor design), but here I feel you are making claims you are unwilling to back up.

Please do not mistake my utter lack of academic regard for "trolling". My scorn for you is purely intellectual.
Well, that's not entirely true. Your abominable personality is also distasteful to me. And by "me", I mean "everyone else here".
