Hmm, i've played on it for sometime and i can say that his server is a special kind of server, which has a plugin developer for the server.
One of the plugins might be causing the issue.
Try bugging sp0nge and alphaest (the plugin developer) and see what they can do for you.

ID conflict, wander around configs and fix duplicate IDS.

As mentioned above, it must be a player (or fakeplayer, like those machines above) or it will not drop rods.
IDSU stores the energy based on your player ID (name), if you are using an "ilegal" copy of MC that may happen.
If thats not the case, you might have "player" on your nickname.
If you don't, then i got no idea.

Recipe would need an extractor, a compressor, an electrolyzer, an energy crystal, an empty cell and 4 adv circuits.

ASP not in desert during day + rain = nighttime generation
ASP anywhere during night + rain = nighttime generation
Then just use the Machine Box, or even just the Covers, if you wanna do it that way.
As soon cubcraft gets updates to 1.5+, will do. Forgot that those covers will be able to do that.
By the way, covers doesn't make translocators useless? Hmm, maybe not as you might not be able to filter what the cover will pull. So, still makes the need of a filter for conveyors or another type of translocator.

Advanced Magnetizer!!
Works just like a vanilla IC2 magnetizer except it takes 128 EU/t and can move an iron block (instead of the player = elevator!!) up 128 blocks at about the speed of a non-hovering jetpack.
Attaching the iron posts to the bottom of the advanced magnetizer will move an iron block down the posts at the speed of a hovering jetpack (maybe a little faster. Assuming you aren't taking fall damage the whole way).
Instead of moving an iron block, just move the player at insane speed.
Who needs a down-way elevator? Jump into 3-deep water.

Thats true, but not much worth doing and it is nearly impossible to automate it.
Every windmill that breaks will turn into a generator and output 1-3 iron ingots.
They will only break if they generate more than 5 EU/t (higher EU/t , higher chance). It takes a considerable amount of time to break them.
Wind Strength of at least 20 is required to break windmills at maximum height (without rain/thunder).
