Or - Putting in your release alt recipe that allow to avoid completely your ores (maybe enable them in config).
Or - Make an option to spawn once ores in already known chunks (Thaumcraft 3 will do something like it, if "true" it spawn ore and set "false" to the config file itself after)

1 - You can perfectly avoid GregTech ores by turning back normal mass fabricator. Redpower Gems/Silver are compatible if i'm not wrong.
    2 - It would be nice !

An information (or debugging) block would be nice...
    for example :
    Show following stuff :

    wind strength , time,
EU/t flowing through it (40 tick average, work as a glass fiber cable) if it is connected to 2 or more cables,
if adjacent machine is working (work as an detector cable, emit redstone signal),
internal storage if adjacent to a storage block [Use K and M prefixes to use less numbers],
and any other information people can think...

Each Water Mill tower produces 13,06 EU/t (64 water mills). MV transformers are cheaper and when reverted sends HV packets (512 EU/packet). Extra space used is very little compared to the costs of a HV transformer to achieve same effect as a reverted MV transformer.
Convenience and math is due 64 is being one stack and i just have to get stacks of stuff to make watermills/windmills, instead of getting stacks + 5/8 stack for example.

i like it aswel, nowadays when i need to retrieve alot of items in one go. i simply activate magnet mode for an moment, and presto. its done,

relatively easy to code i think, EE also has an item which does an similar function (its only lubriciously expensive)

Black hole ring is nice, if vacuum tool worked similar it would be nice (mob gathering tool that uses energy)

Although it isn't in IC2, and they havn't updated to 1.4.2 as far as im aware, there are a few ways of retrieving the items.

    1. NEI's Magnet Mode (really good for void worlds
    2. Rocket Science has a Wet/Dry Vac that i think can absorb items, im not to sure on that one

IC² has an open beta version (1.108) for MC 1.4.2

    1. Yea, but using it is not legit.

    2. its addon is not updated anymore by creator, don't know if rocket science-based addon has it.

Lol, it already works like that in the recent Version.

Since Buffers and Translocators will work similar to Cables we dont have to do it that way. The Translocator is powering both, Input and Outputside of the adjacent Blocks so if you power the Translocator, then it will power all Buffers (or Machines directly) around it, which will then power the Machines.

Hint: When 1.38a is out then place a small electric Buffer under a regular Massfabricator, then set it to emit Redstone and click on the Invert-Signal-Button and viola: You get a MISEL-Mk-V.

I meant, can we have "Redpower tubes/magtubes" that uses energy to keep working?
1 transfer per second (aka 1m/s) with buffers/translocators are way too slow...
    Redpower magtubes speed is 20m/s

Map for mass scale unmanned watermill energy production, area used : 32x32 (effectively only 31x31)
    WaterMap (Mass scale)
Made to explain my design to Waoaca and fit his space (32x32, 4 chunks). Adding it to Unmanned water mill part as an example would be nice.

It sounds nice, as it could be used to retrieve lots of items (from an explosion, player kill, mobs, overflow, chest break...) in a second. Other uses could be to remove unhardened CF-blocks [And storing 1/13 pellets per unhardened CF-block retrieved, so you can recycle those CF blocks that are misplaced]

Electric powered minecarts are on the to-do list, if i'm not wrong.

Now that you've suggested it let me suggest something about it:
Electric powered minecarts are able to use Railcraft MFSU/MFE/Batbox carts to power itself. Otherwise it has an internal charge [Lapotron crystal] and is charged in a charging station like you said. Thus allowing High-speed travels which would be faster than Qsuit and cheaper than teleporter.
Electric powered minecarts should be faster than powered minecarts (vanilla MC ones) and Highspeed minecarts (Railcraft).
How about 48m/s? [Vanilla is 8m/s , Railcraft Highspeed is 24m/s]. It probably should be placed on IC² special rails (or Railcraft Highspeed rails) or it will simply "derail" and crash.

Additional id is not required. Nuclear Control still uses one block id. And I have Info Panels (emits light when turned on), Industrial Alarm (variable light level) and other blocks. All you need is to override getLightValue method and update light when it's required.

However, blocks that emits lights may lag due light updates, since MC light engine is... not good.

Now that you are entering on basic IC² automation, how about adding an electric powered pipes\pumps which uses X EU/second to keep transfering items. If pipes are out of energy items inside gets stuck until it has enough power to keep transfer.
Pipes would draw power from nearest connected electric pump [Like L.E.S.U blocks recognizes its main block], at a maximum distance of 32.
Pipes have its variants : Energy usage , speed
    Electric pipe MK1 : 0.5 EU/s [0.025 EU/t], 2 blocks per second
    Electric pipe MK2 : 2 EU/s [0,1 EU/t], 4 blocks per second
    Electric pipe MK3 : 4 EU/s [0,2 EU/t], 8 blocks per second
    Electric pipe MK4 : 16 EU/s [0,8 EU/t], 20 blocks per second [same as RP2 magtubes]
