Because batboxes are expensive in the long run. Every batbox requires 6 Tin Ore, 6 Redstone Dust, 2 Copper Ore and 4 Rubber to produce. We are looking at TENS of stacks to transport energy anywhere far.
How much does cable cost per tile? 0.25 Copper Ore and 1 Rubber. Or 0.125 Gold Ore and 2 Rubber. Or 0.125 Iron Ore and 3 Rubber.

The miner wasn't clearing the "I'm stuck" flag if it had gotten stuck before it could put out its first pipe. Should be fixed in the next version.
Wait, there is an automatic pipe retrieval function if a pipe gets stuck?

If I remember correctly, Alblaka said he will never increase the duration of high-powered crystal items because it's supposed to offset their power.
He did increase the capacity of the mining laser TWICE, though (once, when he switched it from battery-charged to crystal charged, and once in IC2, where he doubled the capacity). Also, Quantum Armor lasts FOREVER compared to Advanced Nano Armor from IC1. So we may see another increase in Laser capacity, who knows...
1. It's a clutter.
2. They ARE easy to craft - you need only 8 tin ore for a whole stack of cells.
3. Since generators consume the contents of the cells, the empty cells would have to be discharged somewhere, like another slot. Having an entire new slot just for empty cells is impractical.
Probably what CovertJaguar said, or maybe you misaligned the higher-voltage faces. In any case, a small tip. You can plop transformers next to each other and do not need to put cable between them. Saves space and energy.
I don't agree. The buildcraft pipes have always been annoying to place due to the unexpected size and shape of the bounding box, leading to a lot of incorrect placements. When I saw that the IC cables looked the same but had a proper box I was relieved, and I would hate to have it changed.
What do you mean? IC cables have a huge hitbox that is far larger than the visible model. THAT is misleading. And that's how it was with BC pipes as well, until patch 2.1.1, where pipe hitboxes match visual models exactly. Not the case with cables, no it isn't, dear sir:

I took a look at the Copper generation algorithms in mod files, and can say that copper only generates between layers 10 and 70. The highest concentration is layer 40. Get to diggin'.
I second this notion. Very annoying when cables block access to machinery, especially generators. SpaceToad did it with his newest BuildCraft patch for the pipes, so I don't see why not.
If you use a Insulation Cutter to insulate a 2xIns. HV Cable only one Rubber is counsumed.
That's intended. 4xIns. HV Cables are made with 3 rubber per wire, not 4.
Argh. Why must misleading Wiki Page be misleading? I tried using the Electrolyzer with a BatBox a couple times now, to no avail... on top of, beside, in the chain of (didn't realize it's not powered like a regular machine) and even with a dedicated BatBox (biggest waste of 10000+ early EU)...

To be honest, I see no point with this other than aesthetic looks. Coal is much more abundant than redstone, and doesn't need charging to work etc.
