I am actually not looking forward to creepers being able to chase me in the jungle with deadly precision.

Yes, but I was pointing out that creating a block that would allow liquids/items though, but not entities is possible. And yes, grates would make sense, especially if you're developing a mob grinder.
Another thing is, they created this block before, but not under forge.
-
I my memory serves, someone did do this, they set the drain to something like air to liquids and items, but as a solid to entities. I'm going to try and find that drain mod.
EDIT: Appears there were several when I searched under the MCF: the mod mentioned above, FiniteLiquid, and BTW/BTB.
I'm aware of all that. Thing is, I don't want BTB or FiniteLiquid, and mod mentioned above was never really maintained. Also grates in IndustrialCraft would make some sense.

IC2 is causing some troubles with lwjgl OpenAL unload for me. Do you think problem is on IC2 side ? All other mods work fine.

I reworked main post a little to be more clear. I'll add more content soon.
Ducant, you can post link to your tutorial and I'll add it to the bottom of the page. Are you still researching ? Any new info about Redwheat ?

It's been done quite a few times in the past, though recently nobody's updated any of them.
I know. I suggested it here because i think it fits industrial concept and would look pretty good. Also this would solve "never updated" issue.

Floodgate can be done with piston - not what I mean.
Trapdoor won't let water or items through - not what I mean. You want a block which co-exist(both grate and flowing water/lava/modliquid on same block) with flowing liquids? eh don't think its possible
Yes, It is definitely possible, but I don't know if it is possible with forge.

You're welcome.

I didn't spend much time on it so it may not be the best one.Edit: generation 2 - http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…k101010037ps01121s1111110

Using original Uranium shape. 14 HDs. -
2 chamber, 2.5 eff. MK II- 1 EC . Has prretty long cooldown, but highest eff. two-chamber reactor can achieve. Possible upgrade to Rick's starting design.
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1o10101001501521s1r11r10I also improved one of mine: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101011111521s1r11r10
And not sure if it counts, but i touched Cake's design a little (no, not flipped) and i came up with 0.01 better eff. EU. http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…=1k10101001501521s1r11r10

Or just place glass above your crops.
No, but seriously I hate trampling. -
You can find there this quote:
QuoteAlblaka said somewhen already that he won't implement a full set for composite armor.

This is already under Denied ides in Suggestion Compedium thread.

Name: Drainage grate
Description:
Solid metal/ceramic block, which doesn't block items or water/lava flow. If redstoned, it prevents water from flowing through, but lets items pass. It also behaves like air to flowing water, so it will actually consider it when checking for lower floor. It may be used in various farms including mobs, very good looking bridges, emergency water drainage without holes in the floor and more. I am not completely sure if that's hard to code or even impossible. Please let me know about it.

I made water tower like in the wiki and they produce 0.1eu/tick each (they should produce 0.21eu/tick). Measured for over 1000 ticks. And looking at the batbox i can confirm its true.
Thats not quite right. I tested 4 watermills and i always got 32EU per 40 ticks, which means 0.20 EU/t per mill. I'm not sure if watermills were outputting 0.25 EU/t before, since luminator (0.25EU/t) was not able to run on single mill.
-
I've found that wiring up the windmills to a redstone'd transformer makes reading the output feasible.
And you don't even have to redstone it.
-
Why watermills got nerfed? They seem to produce only half what they used to produce and what the wiki says.
They don't produce 0.25EU/t now ?
-
I don't agree, mostly. You may be right about trampling, but adding item, which can actually measure hydration & nutrition values would let users be more precise about their experiments. It may be a little rough, but Industrial farming just started, so of course it needs little improvements. I personally like the way it goes now, not entirely, but i like it.
And about no-source rule: we were able to find almost every plant availible and even to make it produce something. -
So yeah, I designed my first CASUC reactor. It runs at 200 EU/t off of 1 ice block/second.
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…f=1o101010015111111r11r10
EDIT:
Redesign, a bit higher on efficiency. http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…i=1o101010015111111r11r10
This uses one more ice block/second, but it's worth it in my opinion.
too much excessive cooling... you can squeeze far more from it http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.b…4=1o101010015111111r11r10 -
agreed, im starting to think this design is not posible to achieve... bummer
simply because it is not possible. To have >3 eff, you need to have at least 6 cells in there - so minimum 200 heat per tick. Nothing can survive whole cycle with this isnide, not to mention 40 heat/ tick, which middle long sides output to single component ! - that's just impossible.
-
and how are you trying to apply theese rules ? Reactor with worse eff. EU will be better than one with better results, which uses more buckets ? One bucket per second is NOT limiting at all, if you are using redpower.
