Like i always says, making stuff more "Expensive" only achieves one thing, making sure people don't build it 10min after they start in a new world, and that is. Materials in this game are so laughable easy to acquire when you have a few hours playing that "expensive" recipes lose any worth they had.

Mechanics changes or tweaks are the only sensible solution to make stuff stop being so "OP" or whatever that will have an actual impact from the start of a new world to the end of it.

Also this is mostly at SMP, since SSP its a big "Fuck you" to everyone who tries to tell you how to play.

Exactly, i think nuke power is not enough for how dangerous and high tier it is.

Bzzzzzzzz. Nuke power is enough, its just that people rather be the lazy bastards they naturally are and use the green gens that need absolutely no attention whatsoever.

I like the adding a cap to how much amount of energy the "Green" generators can produce before they need maintenance. (Each gen would have a slot in their gui where you would have to place something to make them produce energy, and when they produce enough energy that something would break.

But then again everyone around here get like a woman during PMS when you talk about nerfing their precious green generators.

(Also if Nuclear is so "OP" why not people use them more than solar arrays huh?)

I never said the fire extinguisher its a bad idea (Just a meh solution for a meh problem that only happens during meh times), but for it to have any use its like you said, it either have to be fast or long range or aoe. Also its not necessary to go to such complicated lengths in his creation when the problem isn't worth it most of the time. (Spending more time making the fire extinguisher than actually putting the fire out, no just no)

Why complicated? Putting out a fire in minecraft its as easy as punching it with anything. Even punching it with fire in your hand will extinguish it.

Just because you said they do not have a texture i created one for them and here it is i posted it below so no excuses lol.

    Booze Barrel textures

They rather use their own official texture made by their own Texture artist. Its just the way things are, so sit tight and wait for them to add the textures, it should happen in the next release.

Quite a ridiculous thing anyways, you could gain more stuff just by investing that EMC in collectors or something, there isn't really any reason to run a CASUC reactor for a couple of hours if you could just do something more profitable, less laggy, safer and faster. Makes nuclear reactors useless if you're using EE, enough energy for a q-suit can be acquired more quickly and easily in other manners.

At this point i could say, you have missed the point of the joke.

And then what will she do with it? Jus keep it like that and add nothing new? I mean, RP2 is already solid enough to be a mod, she could just release it and then add the stuff she wants, it's not like it's a PS2 videogame or something where she can't update.

Maybe yes, besides bugfixing and porting she may not add anything new thats usually what finished means. And its her own decision like always, she likes to keep developing this way and not me nor you nor anyone have really any saying on how she should develop her mod.

Besides i like how she have a clear objective of what she wants to do, instead of just deciding on the fly what she will d+o. (Ahem boozeception and agriculture are the most random added features i have seen made in IC2 XD)

And one last thing, if you pay close attention you will actually see some gaping holes that makes you see why its still on "Prerelease":

-Bluelectric cables using wool instead of rubber like she originally intended.
-Rubber trees without any way of extracting the rubber so far.
-Tungsten and 2 gems without any actual use.
-Support Frames and Motors are barely the tip of the iceberg, she has yet to add the embedded frames (Frames with tubes inside).

And thats only a few of the things i remember.

Im getting the same error, apparently its only with Cables inside Construction foams that have not yet solified. Does not matter what kind of cable it is. And yes Dryed blocks with cables inside don't cause this problem (Even working cables don't cause this error).

Im also using the Hotfixed version and i still get this error. (IC2 1.95b)

Its temporal, it has been seen with other recently added items like the electric hoe/treetap that shared the same texture with the wrench.

This is because they don't have any texture available for them so they map the location of the sprites to point to another item instead of a new one in the spreadsheet. All in all just wait until a new version of ic2 so they give the barrels a texture of their own.

Do you mean one Pellet is worth all 13 shots of a Sprayer or one CFoamblock is worth one placed one?

1 Construction Foam Block per Dryed Construction Foam Wall.

The only thing "Good" i realized from that is that you don't have to wait for the CF to dry. But still, making big buildings can be quite expensive since making 1k CF blocks isn't cheapo. I remember i wanted to make a recipe to Dry the pellet in the furnace and get 6 Walls to make it a little cheaper (I think its on the list)

I've always been vaguely bothered by how she she uses the term "prerelease." I can understand if she has a certain goal for redpower 2, but I feel like that term implies something restricted to a small set (like IC's closed betas).

(I suppose it could be argued that stuff like "Prerelease 5" is less technical and easier to understand that stuff like "Version 1.3.5.etc," but it still bothers me.)

I find it okay, she is in fact releasing a unfinished product or at least she finds it that way, otherwise she would not bother to map every single feature she wants to include into a development tree and start refering to each feature she wants to improve or implement with each prerelease number (PR5 was all about frame and iirc PR 6 or 7 will be about redoing the worldegeneration thing).

One of these days she will drop the Prerelease thing, but not until she is completely satisfied with how her mod turned out to be.

Eloraam refuses to release an API until the full release of RedPower 2 sadly. As soon as she does though, it'll be very easy to implement it with our submodule system.

...except I found a big limitation with this: you'll have to choose whether your geothermals want BC or RP2 liquid - the way Java works doesn't let us implement both without having to depend on each other.

Let BC keep the integration with the Geothermal, but rework the IC2 pump a little so it can fill a geothermal directly without needing a empty cell as long as the ic2 pump is touching the geothermal generator. The way RP handle the liquid pipe/pump system is diferent with the BC system, since you can actually move and replace the liquids in the world instead of being forced to fill a Tank Block or Liquid storage like BC does.
