You know, Alblaka and the rest can either take the time to notify us of every problem that crops up in developing/testing IC2... or they can spend that time fixing those problems. I know what my preference is.
I agree. The whole purpose of a wiki is to disseminate information, and when the person writing it does so in a manner that confuses and potentially misinforms people new to the mod (or to MC mods altogether), they have failed completely.
That said, I don't mind the flavor text so much, so long as the actual content is easy to understand. Even though HAYO is the stupidest fucking word.
That's an awful lot of resources for a 1 eff reactor. Try this:
Still runs forever, much more efficient, takes way less resources (though the first version I built used a lot more IHDs because I didn't really "get" how exactly they worked).
Of course a properly built Mk2 can add just 1 more uranium and get more than double the EU (24m vs. 10m) while having a cooldown time of ~70 minutes. Just take an OV scanner and a fully charged lappack (you hooked an MFSU to your reactor, right?) and go hunting for more uranium/diamonds while you wait.
Alright, I went through most of the thread and didn't see this setup, so please don't yell at me if it's a duplicate. I took Rick's air-cooled perfect breeder and replicated it with 1 less IHD:
As well, this one's easier to heat up - replace 2 of the depleted cells with uranium cells so they form a line and run it a couple of cycles. Then put your depleted cells back in and it's party time. Alternately, if you don't mind using Buildcraft you can just pump a lava lake into 11 tanks and get to bucketing.
At least, that's what it looks like in the planner - I admit I haven't actually tested it out in-game, but I see no reason it shouldn't work. But maybe run it far from your base just in case.
So it looks like I shaved 4 seconds off of Maes' Mark-II-1:
I'm not really sure HOW I shaved off 4 seconds; I just studied the reactor setup and figured out the basic idea, then went around playing with placement. *shrug*
You can put another IHD in the empty space if you want, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.
