Useful idea.
Even if I do not like recipe.
The only other mode I want for chainsaw is silent mode. I hate it sound while I switch tools.
This should be named like "EU heater" if I understand right.
Good example would be RP2 Alloy Furnace. Smelt alloys by EU instead of fuel or BT. But BT is much better.
It is fun idea but I do not see, where to use it.
Edit: Oh, yes. Stone Engine ... But Forestry has better way.
Any tool should break Glass faster than hands, except Laser.
Can be laser shots changed to go through Glass without damage?
old A.I. vending machines in a large post apocalyptic industrial dungeon/bunker/abandoned city made of construction foam, glass, depleted luminators, and full of zombies. you give the machines what they want and they will make you things with the surplus so you'll comeback. just saying
This way less stupid than pyramid chests. It also has a reason for traders in single play. May be obtaining some object would allow you to build it yourself.
Dependency of Villagers is bad.
Testificates find "Strange" artifacts from around the area, They do not know what they are or how to use but see that Steve got an interest in these artifacts so they are willing to trade those for some coins.
After steve buys these artifacts he can go to his house and try to repair them, and when he does he find what appears to be plans to build some complex machines from a strange civilization that lived in the planet long ago or some aliens. (Artifacts still can be gained from the dungeon chests).
It's stupid. I mean more stupid than most of MC. Artifact can fit mystique, magical, ancient, forbidden, forgotten but not industrial.

Let them sell simple stuff. It is bad to hunt a Vilager in attempt to build a reactor.

I do not want Vilagers to use industrial things. They do not need it.
Thaumcraft research is interesting but not the only interesting way. IC need other way.
How about a"Lab" block, where you craft some equipment like on crafting table. But all recipes are "experimental" and "Lab" block spend some time to craft and test the result. If result pass testing, you get it unlocked at crafting table and get result item. If recipe unlocked already you get "recipe" to sell (provided paper). Unsuccessful test leads to components loss. I think this is quite industrial way of research. Try and errors.
How would you open gas deposit if torches used for lighting? I do not like sudden death.
Oil is a "foreign resource" here. There is no chemistry, Generator lacks liquid storage. Some workarounds can be made of course.
I see, how you can use filler after quarry, but how will you fill holes after Thaumcraft bore?
I am strongly disagree with getting industrial knowledge from outside of yourself.
Why would Villagers have technology if they do not use it? No way!
Why would treasure chests contain industrial blueprints instead of old/forgotten/forbidden/ancient/magical ones? No way!
The only ways to open some recipe for use for crafting are:
1. Research it yourself by using some blackboard/lab equipment ...
2. Get it from other player, who researched it or bought himself ...
3. Feed the builded autoresearch complex and hope ...
I can describe some variants better if someone interested.
Why anyone need clean painter?
Just color it in other dye if you need.
Recipe:
Place it above any powered cable and it will recharge your power breast plate.
Energy boots required (Static/Nano/Quantum). If you do not wear special boots, nothing happens.
Voltage limited by Cable type. Fiber Optic Cable not used.
As a side note Hazmat suit should protect from Tesla coil completely. (do not strike at all)

EU shovel is Drill.
Miner has 6 sides:
Bottom always minepipes;
1 side - chest/pipe/tube for output;
1 side - pump for liquids;
1 side for EU providing;
Remaining 2 sides cannot be easily distributed to 4 inventory slots.
I think Miner should distribute inserted item based on item type, not on side: Scaner to Scaner slot, Drill to Drill slot, Battery to Battery slot, others - to pipe/filler slot.
Empty Battery should be ejected to output.
Mate, i'm working with IC textures for a bit now, and it seems that chamber uses reactors top part texture
I do not see it changed when active.
For soup bowl and furnace must be used.
