Sorry this one really confused me. xD

You start the server with "java -jar forge-version.jar nogui" or similar, replace that with "java -Dfastcraft.asm.permissive -jar forge-version.jar nogui" to activate the option. If you use some server admin panel, you'd have to look for where it allows to specify additional Java parameters.

SakuraTheKitten: There's probably only a chance for this to happen with most likely the issue itself being independent of FastCraft, although it may increase the chance for it to happen. Just run the command the next time you are on top of such a chunk, it's part of my anti-world-hole efforts

SakuraTheKitten: That's very odd, try installing Sampler (in the op, 2nd spoiler box), run "/csampler chunkInfo" and "/sampler chunkinfo". For the 2nd one it has to be installed on the server as well. Post the outputs at pastebin.

OhmsFTW: By the looks of it this isn't FastCraft related. The chunk was already corrupted when FastCraft received it and it crashed because of that corruption. Vanilla would have crashed likewise. Unfortunately there's nothing pointing to the actual corruption source. You'll need some tool to delete the corrupted chunks, I'm considering to write one..

Black Yamato: That's a bug elsewhere, try running with -Dfastcraft.debug.fwel (java options, not after the -jar option)

P3rf3ct_Zer0: I've yet to receive a "valid" bug report for 1.21. If you have an issue report it including logs as applicable.

Razorskills: I'm actually mostly developing on Intel CPUs with HD2000 - HD4000 GPUs, so that may have some impact. But really FastCraft isn't currently aiming much for steady state performance. It can do a lot against lag spikes or when your world becomes complex enough to slow your game down otherwise, including servers starting to saturate the 50 ms they have.

ate0ate: Those crashes are as far as I'm aware never caused by FastCraft, the stack trace is just showing a transparent detection hook.
What probably happened there is that for some reason a block received an invalid metadata value. If you can still run commands, e.g. through the dedicated server console, editing your player nbt to spawn elsewhere or teleporting away fast enough, you may be able to use sampler to find the position of the broken block(s) with "/sampler find com.scottkillen.mod.koresample.common.block.SlabBlock --unloaded --meta=7" and then use setBlock or world edit to change the block to air.

Robert: That's a JVM crash, there's nothing I can do about it. The bug is in native code and modifying the mod set just triggers it. Maybe running java with -verbose:jni can give more insight, but it'd spam a lot.

Sunconure11: Not my fault, check AppleCore's issue list.

Roadhog360: MC 1.8 isn't a feasible target atm due to low use and many of its changes being superseded by MC 1.9 again. To put FastCraft on the server you just have to copy its jar file into the mods folder with MinecraftForge installed.

There's no way this is related to FastCraft, all 1.21 changed is creating the config folder if it doesn't exist yet.

Since it's somewhat related to IC2 I've added some debug output there.

You need an IRC client which you can then use to connect to esper.net and then join the channel #fastcraft. Alternatively use the web chat on http://esper.net

It obviously only makes sense if you can reproduce the issue or can instruct someone to do so.

Hmm the easiest way to debug this would be if whoever crashes goes to my IRC channel (#fastcraft esper.net). FC should have all the debug tools required to investigate.

Actually I've been working on major load time optimization for quite a while besides what is already in FastCraft. That work however isn't usable yet and gets (mostly) stripped from builds.

The startup isn't really I/O bound, it's a lot more complicated to accelerate than just moving some data to RAM. The baseline is actually better than one would assume, I've profiled the loading and there's not really any low hanging fruit.

Make sure to have the latest 1.6.4 Forge before updating. If it still doesn't work you may have to try removing some mods, IC2's blocks should mostly migrate properly.

Imo the names should be derivable from in-game names, so they can be exported directly, like my dump subcommand already does.

The dump command uses Sprite_modId_displayName_imageSize, but this scheme can suffer from conflicting names.

Maybe something like Sprite_modId_untranslatedName_metaData_imageSize may work better, but meta data is being abstracted away in MC 1.8 and 1.9.
