A patch for these errors is now available

I made a patcher to fix Advanced Solar Panels crashing with newer IC2 builds (2.8.191+).
These crashes could be easily fixed by re-compiling the mod with IC2 2.8.191 or newer. However, because the source is not available, and the developer hasn't updated it since March 9th 2020 when the errors were first reported, I decided to make this small patcher.

Make brews (Youngster, Beer, Ale, Dragonblood) visible in creative/JEI. This would allow them to be used as quest goals, for example.

I'm developing an ic2 addon using ITeBlock, and a day ago I hit a roadblock when I was trying to emit redstone on a specific side. The issue is that BlockTileEntity#getWeakPower doesn't care about sides, so I can't fix it no matter what I try. Could redstone related methods (getWeakPower, canConnectRedstone, getComparatorInputOverride etc.) be added to TileEntityBlock so that they can be overriden?

Is there a way to emit redstone only on a specific side? RedstoneEmitter emits on all sides, and this seems to be hardcoded in BlockTileEntity#getWeakPower

IC2 has remained closed source for so much time. The community could help fix bugs & speed up the development of the mod. Also, deobfuscated ic2 jars are publicly available, what kinda exposes the source code. So why not go open source?

IC2 should get a discord server. No one really uses the forum anymore.

how can i update ic2? Is it just downloading a newer version and putting it into the modpack? What if the modpack uses the newest version? Will I still be able to play on servers that use an older version?
