I'll be looking forward to see that
Btw, about the ID conflict with the ID resolver, I had the same problem with the Portal mod, they seemed to conflict, and to tell the truth I have no idea how to fix that. If someone knows please let me know

Well, thanks But I would rather you called me a "god" instead of "goddess" :p
Update. Compiled for BTW 1.98, also added a new block, Motor, which will convert electric current to mechanical power.
That very much depends on what mods you are using together. But yes, there should be more then enough IDs available even if you use BTW, red power, IC² and buildcraft together.
If you are just using IC² and BTW together, what I usually do is alter the "BTWConfig.txt" file (check BTW instructions on how to use and change that) and change the block ids (NOT ITEM ID's) decreasing 100 from each. So just replace 221 with 121, 222 with 122 and so on. That should be enough. If you are using other mods I really can't help you, you have some maneuvering to do. But you can also use the mod "ID Resolver" that pretty much does that for you automatically.
Or you could check out this thread on BTW forums that explains in detail how to install all these mods together.

Please note that I haven't had time to update Dynamo to BTW 1.98. But if I had to guess I'd say it would work as is, but I haven't tried it, so no guarantees.
I found that if you download the .zip version (attachment - not link) then Minecraft will produce an error saying that block id ### (doesn't matter what ID it is) is occupied by null. The .rar from the link works fine however.
The attachment was outdated. I was having problems deleting it, but I was able to remove it now.
Did you make sure you had all the correct versions for Better than Wolves and IC²? Were they working properly before you installed the addon?
Updated to BTW 2.96
Any thoughts on 'Steel Axles'? (good, bad, or otherwise?)
Maybe, but I think I rather make a new block. since I'm already using entities for IC, I can easily make a new block using the same ID. But I wont do that for a while. Real life calls
Quotehmm... that's odd, downloaded the latest version just now (1.2), extracted it to a folder off of mods (had it in a zip before) and Modloader reported this:
FINE: Mod Loaded: "mod_JBDynamo 1.1" from mod_JBDynamo.class
Oct 06, 2011 11:27:10 PM ModLoader readFromModFolder
Yeah, ignore that... its really 1.2, I just forgot to change the version number on the code
Quoteok... color me *very* confused. it all works fine now, despite it being the exact same download, just in a slightly different location. getting 18 EU/t now from the massive array.
The reason I use the mods folder is that it's tons easier dealing with that then stuff in the .jar, also tons easier to upgrade or remove stuff. I've got the core files and APIs in there sure but anything else gets dropped in the mods folder.
Yeah, I didn't make this compatible with installing like that. Actually, I didn't even bother to see how to do that, just wanted to finish the mod and it didn't seem important. So for now you should just install it like its on the instructions or there will probably be unexpected results...
QuoteAlthough I really do need more power.. i've been procrastinating on the solar farm I sorta need to build. (the dynamos are nice but won't be enough for a mass fab off somewhere)
More than enough for a bank of Macerators though, just not enough for a couple Induction furnaces, those are nice but are rather power hogs.
Well, I guess that means its usefull but not overpowered, so, mission accomplished
That is true. Check out FC's post on this subject:
Are you sure about the reading? I can't get 3EU here no matter what, not even if I put the bat box glued to the dynamo's output, its still 2EU.
What configuration are you using for the blocks? I mean, positioning in game, not Ids... Are you using windmill or water wheel?
By the way, i'm only updating version 1.2, so forget about 1.0, I wont work on it anymore
God, this was annoying! Trying to understand undocumented code is a pain in the ass
I believe it is fixed now... Hopefully... Check the output again? It should be 2EU now....
I'll check again.... it worked for me, but maybe I missed something.....
Oooops.. My bad I put 1.1 instead of 1.0
Fixed the links now.
Fixed the dynamo not sending energy when the world reloads, fixed the config file issues (more info inside Readme.txt) and changed output to 2EU. New file on first post
Incidentally, not sure if this is a bug with IC2 or the dynamo but i've got three feeding a Bat Box which feed a few machines. Once in a while i'll find them without power, have to break the cable connected to the bat-box and re-connect it. Not a huge deal but figured i'd point it out.
Do you mean breaking the cable going "in" the bat box or going "out"? Can you show my a screenshot or something, so I can try to reproduce it here? How often does that happen?
Yeah, it did cross my mind. Using steel seems a good idea. But I wanted of possible to be able to use the same block... Maybe there is a way to make an upgrade to the block without wasting another ID... I have to understand better how entities work, I think....
Woo, love it, using it with 1.15 on 1.8.1
I wonder a bit about balance given you can power as many as you want with a given BTW power source. (using wind in my game right now.. just barely got that up and running)
I second the notion about how there should be a block that works the other way around. I almost don't care if it's rather expensive, if you wanted to maintain balance you could include a water wheel as part of the recipe for it, that way your at least that far up the BTW tech tree. Would allow underground use of BTW stuff without running long axle chains or having to use running water for the water wheel. Don't like the sound of running water around if I can avoid it.
All think about that.
By the way, do you have any suggestions as to balancing the dynamo? I feel that if I reduce the amount of energy it produces no one would even bother to use it....
Thing is, there is no attachments tab, and no poll tab... Its like I can't change that after I already posted? Weird....
