Suggestion: Jet pack fall damage based on velocity

  • Sometimes, when using a jet pack, you can land at a (relatively) low velocity, from high up, where you haven't reached close to hover speed yet, but get damaged as if you had fallen from all the way up. I don't know if this is intentional/or a bug, so I'm putting it here. Since when at very low speeds fall damage is reduced, I guess the fall damage just isn't been reduced to sensible levels for some velocities, and using the standard fall damage. Or I'm completely wrong and mis-judging my speed.

  • I think it is a bug, since (at least before) if you jet-packed down and onto a ladder, you would similarly take massive fall damage at the bottom.

  • So if you somehow reach terminal velocity, you will die? Sounds like a good idea! :thumbup:


    Uhm, No, the bug is that the custom script for the jetpack's fall damage is buggy, and sometimes deals fatal damage when you are not falling anywhere near fast enough for that to be correct behavior.
