Compressed air growing infinitely

Hello, I found that compressed air block placed in overworld slowly grows indefinitely.
I accidently placed it when I was holding a UF cell and then I neglected cleaning it up for a while and now it is going pretty much out of control.

I am playing IC2 2.6.37 on MC 1.10.2

Ok, after some messing around I discovered that it was that placing something inside the compressed air duplicates it. If I pour water around the compressed air, it creates a huge rising waterfall. If I place a torch, a torch gets placed and another spawns as an item.
