So you could shoot away as a hunting gun, specially in explosive and long range modes and not harm the environment.
And the tripod you could mount the laser and make it like a auto defense turret, you could add a Charging Crystal to it to supply the laser or maybe wire it up.
Living being mode to the mining laser, and a tripod with turret-y functions.
