How do you use the IC2 pipes?

I like them because they transport fluids faster than Buildcraft pipes, but I have no idea how to connect them to each other or onto IC2 machines.

Generally, their connections can be set by using a Wrench.
Or, when placing pipes, you can click on an existing pipe to automatically connect them.
