So, it appears that Mojang has decided to hold off on 1.9, and make that the release for Minecon (They will be doing a Weekly Pre-release until then).

    Display Spoiler

The adventure update is going great! We’re adding features and cramming in content, and then started feature creeping and content creeping. What we’ve got on our hands now is somewhere in between a finished Adventure Mode update and a version of the game we’d be proud to call just “Minecraft”. Not “Minecraft Beta” or “Minecraft Alpha”, but just plain and simple “Minecraft”.

And we’re going to release that version of the game live on stage in Vegas at MineCon! Woooo!

Up until then, instead of trying to squeeze in another real release, we’re going to do weekly (or so) pre releases, aimed at advanced players. We release these via twitter, so make sure to follow me (@notch) and Jens (@jeb_) if you’re interested in those.

Also, we’re finally adding a dragon.

It also seems they are paying homage to The Great Dragon Lord. =D

Nah, the dragon mob was (first) announced together with lanterns and nether... *eyeroll*

However, no 1.9 is good, because this means we wont get interrupted for the next time anymore :3

only annoyance, is that, afaik they will be changeing the world code generation in 1.9 as well.. So that means i would have to reset a server if i were to set it up now.. Only thing holding me off from launching the server.... I hate having to restart worlds..

Just define a border and tell them that when the update comes out, everything beyond the point will get reset.

    I do that for IR.
