Hi Everyone!
Just installed IC2 - can I used an old save, 1.8.1, and still be able find all IC2 resources? Uranium, Oil (buildcraft) etc?
Or do I need to create a new save/world

You can BUT in the area you explored you dont find any new resource (try deleting all chunks you dont use with MCEDIT[I dont know much about the programm but that should be good :)])

There's a IC-world > IC²-World tool in the Add-On section.
Otherwise, IC1 worlds are NOT compatible with IC².Though of course 1.7 IC² worlds are fully compatible with IC² of 1.8.1, you weren't exactly clear whether you meant this.

Well actually neither of those scenarios. I installed IC2, and I have an old save (a save from where no mods were installed. Not IC1, nothing)
Will I still need to create a new world or new save to find resources?

It will work, but you will need to explore new chunks for them to contain copper, tin or rubbertrees.

Kinda, just wanted to mention you could as well just explore new chunks without restarting your world.
