Help required with Ring Mains supply

  • k, so basic setup is as follows:

    1. Hook up generator of your choice to MFE.

    2. Run MFE output through LV transformer

    3. Run LV transformer output through a series of batboxes

    4. Input to MFE again from a different face than the generator input.

You now have an MFE which continuously circulates EU (unless you put a lever on one of the batboxes or MFE itself)

    Reason for doing this:

Prevents build up of EU at the end of a supply chain, or having to stick a mass fabricator next to an offline MFSU to soak up wasted energy.

...is this a bad thing to do in SMP servers?

  • If I had coded the grid then no. Each unit would have TX and RX buffers equal to their largest tolerated input, transformers would swap their high and low buffers when the 'output' (be it high or low) was empty. All storage devices would act like transformers with the addition of internal storage buffers.

Even though that's not quite how things work, I will assume that the storage boxes at least buffer for one tick. It should be more than safe to experiment and monitor the resource utilization.
