How to edit server files? (Tekkit Release)

    I own a tekkit server (which includes ic2 of course) and i am wondering if there is any way to change the files to change things like the nano armors damage resistence, because pvp isnt really fun when you have 2 invicible people :P . I have notepad++ and can open and view the files but not sure what to edit and dont want to mess everything up. Thank you for your time

    Yeah i know there isnt any easy options/settings. But there has to be a way you can change a data value to reduce armor damage reduction... right?
